Biography
Due to her status as the daughter of the richest man in town, Melinda is prominent in the school as the only person able to counter-balance the antics of the spoiled rotten Liliana Grandville.
She has an interesting relationship with her step-mother. They met each other when her father expected to adopt Ashley as her older sister, but for some reason he wound up marrying her and becoming her step-mother instead. She has never really been sure what to think of this and still thinks of her step-mother as more of an older sister and interacts with her from that perspective.
Due to her upbringing in the town's traditions, she is not aware of the 'things' her father does with her step-mother while they are in bed together in order to make babies.
She does not have a boyfriend because there are only 3 boys in her class. Mathew is with Liliana, Hobert seems to always be in a strange sort of relationship with Luana, and due to her time helping her step-mom at the orphanage she got to know what kind of family the Morandi family is, so she'd never even consider being with Morgan even if he is effectively the perfect guy otherwise. She simply can't forgive how all his sisters keep winding up at the orphanage.
She has built a rather close sisterly relationship with her step-mother and helps out at the orphanage frequently, and is very aware of the kinds of antics the orphanage girls get up to. Even without knowing much about sex, she feels she knows a lot more about this town's dark side than most.
