Biography

From a young age, Coleman was a follower. He followed behind the popular kids, doing what was ordered and trying to get on their good side. He was lucky to follow on the wake of the now Deacon and Headmaster, and by doing what they told him, he gained status and recognition, even if the two older kids would often take advantage of him and made him do the dirty work.

Things didn't change as they grew up. For Coleman, both the Deacon and the Headmaster are his friends and confidents. While the older men see the Mayor as a good puppet they can told what to do without worry about betraying them.

It was the Deacon's idea for Coleman to run for office, and half the reason he was elected was the endorsement he got at church from the Deacon. At this time he also married Leopold's eldest daughter, not because they liked each other, but the Headmaster and the Deacon saw he needed to look like a family man in order to win.

Coleman's relationship with his wife is complex. While the marriage was an arranged one, and it was clear Kathrin wasn't fully willing to not only marry a man her father's age, but also having to start a family so they could have a good image, in the end they had stood the test of time, at least in Coleman's eyes.

Sure, after Kathrin got pregnant with their eldest daughter, their marital relations stopped almost completely, with Kathrin only servicing her husband on special occasions. But things improved over time, and seven years ago Coleman was surprised to find his wife in a much more receptive mood.

Coleman is content with his life now. Sure, he spends way too much time in the office making sure the town runs the way it should, thankful his friends are always behind him to steer him in the right direction. Things at home have also improved quite a lot, with Kathrin smiling a lot more after the birth of their two younger daughters, who have become a beacon of happiness for the old man.
