Guess you're going to have to talk to Mary's parents. The are going to need to at least know she's not coming home after school today. The only question is how much you are going to tell them.

You dial the phone, half hoping somehow you are going to get ahold of her father. No such luck. It is definitely an adult feminine voice that answers the phone.

"Hello?" She says.

"Yes, this is Jhon Gardner, director of disciplinary action at St. Andre Truitt. Is this the mother of Mary Franklin?"

"Oh yes! Mr. Gardner! Did Mary do something wrong?" She asked, you can definitely sense the tinge of excitement in her voice although she seems to be trying to act concerned. "I'm sorry, she is in her rebellious stage. I am certain though that a harsh dose of reality and some of the new humiliation from the new punishment policy ought to make her shape up."

Ok, so, now's the part where you need to decide exactly how much she gets to know. Of course, you are going to keep the lesbian thing secret. You are certain that's not going to go well if what Mary told you is true and this woman gets ahold of that information. Besides, you already promised Mary you would keep that part secret. As for the rest of it...

• Tell her the bare minimum, you are keeping her after school
