Your secretary entered the room to inform you about a new student who needed to be punished.
"Sir, I just received a report from a student that they saw a boy and girl enter the girl's bathroom together last week. It seems as though it was father Isardo's sermon yesterday that caused him to realize this was something not permitted in the rules. I have already called the female student to the office, although it seems the student who reported this did not recognize the boy she was with."
Really! That's not just an appearance of impropriety. That's at the level where there's almost no doubt what this boy and girl must have been doing together in the bathroom.
You stare at her for a short time, quite stunned that someone in this town would actually do something like that.
"Ah, I see." You say after a little while. "Ok. I take it you plan to give me some information on this student?" You prompt her.
"Yes." Your secretary says. "Her name is Rachel Ross. I would have to say perhaps the most shocking thing about this is that she is only in the sixth grade, however considering that she and all her siblings are bastard children I suppose it should not be that much of a surprise that she would be raised with such weak moral values. It also seems that her mother takes frequent trips out of town, leaving her daughters here by themselves. Because of this, you might not be able to have any punishments that extend to the home followed unless you have her siblings participate. She does have an older sister who is in the ninth grade. I believe, considering the state of their family an exception can be made to have her older sister fill what would usually be the parent's role in such a punishment."
As you listen to her explanation, you are forced to think of Diya Styles and the bullying she gets subjected to for being a prostitute's daughter. It is very clear from Mr. Varano's explanation that she has a bias against this girl. In fact, it sounds like she might very well be even more disliked than the Styles girls are. Perhaps it has something to do with the idea that individual men in the town might get cut off from the brothel's services, thus a bastard child of a parent who is a social outcast would be considered even lower class.
She is also just taking the student's word for it. It is also pretty suspicious that the supposed boy the girl was with was not recognized.
"Well, I would say we need to get the name of that boy as well." You say. "What was the name of the student who reported this? I might have to talk to this student later."
"Of course." Mr. Varano said. "It was a sophomore by the name of Marlo Lefort." She said. Well, that's quite the age difference with the girl in question. Perhaps the chances of it being a made up story for the sake of bullying just dropped.
"Alright, thank you." You said. "You can send her right in when she arrives."
Well, this is rather troublesome. You have no idea whether or not this report is true. It definitely sounds shaky. However, considering the circumstances, the authority figures involved have already decided she did it. It could endanger your job if you don't implement Father Isardo's proposed policy and hand out forced pregnancy as a punishment for this.
