You want to give him something, he may have given you an outright order but it’s just human nature to hold some resentment if you are the one to do something like that to their daughter. You have to do SOMETHING to take some of the sting out of it for him.
“Was there something else?” He growls at you.
“Uhh… well sir, I do get that you don’t want any special favors, but actually doing what you just asked me to do WOULD be giving your daughter unequal treatment.”
“How so?” He angrilly demanded.
“Well, she did commit several severe infractions, and two of them were a bit more severe than anything listed on the guidelines, so it does make sense for their punishment to be a little harsher than what’s in the guidelines, but what you just described is WAY more harsh. I know you’re a father and you don’t REALLY want your daughter’s life completely destroyed. I think there’s a way we can salvage this if we take the fact she was with her approved of boyfriend into consideration.”
“John, you had BETTER not be wasting my time.” He barks at you. “I don’t want her getting a light sentence just because she’s my kid, I’m doing this for the good of the town’s youth and for that there need to be a few sacrifices. Back during the first world war, the Czar of Russia had his son in the military, and when he heard that his son’s troop was under heavy assault he had the ability to sacrifice thousands of troops and compromise his military’s position in order to save his son. But if he did, it would not only compromise the war effort but also harm the moral of the troops since he had given his son special treatment. Some sacrifices have to be made.”
“No, no, what I’m saying is that there’s a difference between treating her equally and treating her worse than the other students. I thought the purpose behind this program was supposed to be to help shape the youth into better and more productive citizens, not to just destroy their lives. What I’m saying is that there is still a way to salvage her future completely within the rules giving her a completely appropriate punishment that would be the same as she would get if she was not your daughter.”
“Well spit it out already!” He growled at you, clearly getting rather irritated by now.
“Well, she has committed four severe infractions, cutting class, consuming alcohol, consuming illegal substances, and engaging in immoral sexual activity. The fair minimum for this would be four corresponding severe punishments, for instance loosing her oral virginity, anal virginity, vaginal virginity, and taking a pregnancy risk. The guidelines give us some other options though, such as getting the family involved to take on some of the shame of their punishment.” You give him a dead stare right in the eyes at this, letting the implication sink in. “And since she does have an official boyfriend, loosing her virginity in front of him can be considered part of the punishment.”
“Th… this is assuming though that my daughter actually IS still a virgin and whether that kid’s gotten to her already.”
“Well, we can check before her punishment starts, if she isn’t then the punishment gets a bit harsher. If she is though, I think it would be a perfectly fair punishment to loose her vaginal virginity and take a pregnancy risk from her father, while being watched by her boyfriend.”
“There is one problem with your idea for a punishment though Mr. Gardner. I have my position to think of, the use of that punishment is designed to shame the family.”
“You said it yourself,” you tell him, “she has already shamed your family. I think it would turn out the same for you either way. Besides, I already told you, my job is to reform, not destroy, so don’t you think me giving you the choice here is also kinda special treatment? I think I’ve got a way to shield you from some of the shame though, again taking into consideration the fact that she did this with her recognized boyfriend. You see, Matt is also in need of a severe punishment. Part of his punishment could be to take responsibility for anything that happens to Liliana as a result of her punishment. Therefore, it’s not her fault, it’s his. Thus, even though she lost her virginity and may wind up with a child that’s not his, it is still all considered as though he was the one that did it. It will harm her future a bit, but if they are punished together in this way she still has at least some chance at a life after her punishment even if it is reduced in societal standing by quite a bit. I’m sure you don’t like that Matt kid very much after he got your daughter into this mess, and this would be pretty much grantee he has to get with her, but it actually is your daughter’s best chance at a future.”
The headmaster lets out another heavy sigh at this, again pinching the bridge of his nose as he rests his forehead on his fingers. “Damn! Damn you’re damn good at your job Gardner. I’m gonna be honest, I never liked you from the moment I hired you, and I also really hate your guts right now in particular, but mostly I hate you right now because you’re right, I was wrong, and you called me the hell out on it. This program IS supposed to straighten out the students and make them productive members of society, I had forgotten that because I was angry. Ok, we’ll go with the punishment you recommended. Write up the full details and give me the papers for the both of them, I’ll carry them out faithfully as though I were any other parent made to obey these new rules.”
