EOTW/School/Slip Out of the Shirt
It takes quite a level of flexibility and contortion to place yourself in such a position that you can even get out of your t-shirt, given that the clothing in question seems completely stuck to the rusted nail. You're not entirely sure how you succeed but, nevertheless, you do. Your constant moving, however, wasn't the best idea you came up with; it isn't until it's almost too late that your realise the surface you're balancing on is moving with you.
The piles of rubble supporting the beam collapse, causing the beam itself to give way. Not only that, the remainder of the ceiling above you seems to be giving way as well. Your mind panics, you barely have enough time to react, your mind can't even begin to think of a way out. Completely frozen in place, it's by sheer luck that you fall forwards, you're fate being spared.
Or maybe you just trade one fate for another. Receiving a heavy smack is what causes you to move, but thee was nothing gentle in that as it scrapes through your flesh and leaves your ribs bruised beyond belief. That, coupled with your unorthadox landing on a very uneven surface has left your damaged in more places than you knew you had. You're lucky you didn't to still be conscious; The pain you feel every time you move is probably what is keeping you that way! You can feel tears swell up in your eyes as all you can do is lie there, alone and broken. Suddenly the realisation floods upon you, everyone you knew is gone! There is no one left to help you, no one left to care. You contemplate how long it would take to cry yourself asleep; at least then the pain will disappear for a few short hours.
Your eyes begin to close when you feel a small hand press against your arm. The touch feels gentle, soft, and even soothing. You begin thinking over how good it feels to have contact with another persons hand once again... 'Wait a minute! That's a hand?!' Your mind snaps awake at the realisation of what that meant, but your body seems unable to do the same. Before you manage to process any further thought you find yourself drifting off to a far more peaceful sleep than you could have hoped for.
