Format Rules/Story Codes

Okay, so we use a story code system to let readers know what they are getting into when they choose a story to read. These were taken for the most part from Asstr.org. To keep things uniform try to use the following codes:

Story Type

This should be part of every story, and should be the first story code.

Code	Definition
Traditional	A traditional story, to be read, not played.
Interactive	An interactive story, with branches and choices.
Game	An interactive story with game-play elements such as health, inventory, etc with or without coding.

Age / Gender / Coupling

We use codes to inform readers what age gender pairings appear in the story.

Age and Gender

Code	Definition
M	An adult man (18 or older)
m	Boy - Teenager (13 - 17)
b	Boy - Preteen (age 12 or younger)
F	An adult woman (18 or older)
f	Girl - Teenager (13 - 17)
g	Girl - Preteen (age 12 or younger)
H	A hermaphrodite adult.
h	A hermaphrodite under 18.
all	All ages and genders may be present.

Additionally, you can add a specific age in parentheses after the code. This is very important for the b, g and h codes when the subject is 5 years old or younger.

Couplings

Use a slash / between parings, with the more dominant partner to the left of the slash. Examples:

F/F	Homosexual adult female sex.
M/M	Homosexual adult male sex.
f/f	Young lesbian sex.
m/m	Homosexual, young male sex.
M/g	Permutations of this are an adult having sex with a young child.
F/b(4)	An adult female having sex with a 4 year old boy.
F/f/g	An adult female dominating a teen female who dominates a child female.

Additional partners

Mm/Ffg(8)g(4)	A male adult and teen having sex with a female adult, teen, and child of 8 and 4 years old.

Types of pairings

Code	Definition
solo	Masturbation by M, m, b, F, f, g, H, or h.
f/solo	e.g. Masturbation by an adolescent girl.
group	More than 3 people having sex.
orgy	Large-group sex. When group isn't good enough.

Special Types of partners

(In place of M, m, b, F, f, g, H, or h.)

animal type	If best or zoo code is used, may specify animal by species.

Consent

Code	Definition
blackmail	Forcing sex through threat of exposure.
cons	Only Consensual Sexual Activity (including some non-intercourse sexual activity) is in the story.
mc	Mind control
nc	Non-consensual Sexual Activity (including some non-intercourse)
rape	Brutal non-consensual intercourse.
reluc	[Also include the code (rape)]; starts out as rape, but she loves it.
rom	[Romantic] The story contains consensual sexual activity, based -- at least in part -- on the characters' love for one another.

Dominance, submission, bondage, pain and violence.

caution	Something is going on that is not covered by the story codes but which might reasonably be expected to offend a fair number of people. Or the story code would give away too much of the plot, but the story might offend a fair number of people.
cbt	Cock & ball torture
ds	Dominance (and submission)
fist	Fisting
humil	Humiliation. Some of the sexual charge of the story involves the humiliation of one of the characters.
mc	Mind control
rough	Consensually rough sex, not always sm.
sad	[sadism] For 'just' inflicting pain.
sm	Sadomasochism pain for the pleasure of both.
snuff	Killing for sexual pleasure.
spank	[Spanking] Mild sm
tort	Torture. Severe non-consensual infliction of pain.
va	Verbal abuse. [Abusive and dirty language]
viol	Violence, not always sad

Generally, (snuff) applies to killing in which the description of the killing is supposed to add to the sexual charge; (viol) includes stories which are violent, even if the sex isn't.

When you have coded for the most extreme, omitting the codes for the less extreme is acceptable. (viol) is generally used for non-sexual violence; you should have some specific code from that list for any sexually-connected violence. If you do not, however, use (viol) rather than having no code.

cheat	Married or committed people having sex outside of the commitment, cheating on their partner, as distinct from swinging.
cuckold	The story involves the feeling of humiliation of a man's knowing that another has replaced him in his wife's bed

interr	Interracial
rom	[Romantic] The story contains consensual sexual activity. Based, at least in part, on the characters' love for one another.
swing	Married or committed couples in which the commitment does not imply exclusivity.
wife	Wife watching (participatory cuckoldry)
wl	[Wedded Lust] Sex within the marital relationship

Note on marriage. (wl) is the only code which covers sex between husband and wife. (swing), (wife), and (creampie) [see below] imply that the spouse knows and approves of the other spouse's sexual activity with others. In (cuckold) the husband knows, but doesn't approve. In (cheat) the spouse might find out, but -- if so -- this discovery is a major blow to the relationship.

nosex	There is no intercourse in the story. This is a preemptive code in the sense that it overrides any implication of intercourse by other codes used.
oral	Oral-genital contact.
tod	[Toddlercon] Some participants age 5 or below.
pett	Heavy petting
piv	[Penis in vagina] "Straight" intercourse.
rim	Oral-anal contact.
safe	Safe sex
scat	[Scatology] Involving feces.
solo	Masturbation
swing	Swinging.
tg	Transgendered (Male changed into a female, or vice versa.
toys	Vibrators or other adult toys
tv	Transvestite - man dressing as woman
veg	Vegetable. Sex with food.
vore	Eating (literally) someone or something alive. Think Jonah.
voy	Voyeurism
wife	Wife watching (participatory cuckoldry)
ws	Water Sports (aka golden showers, that is: people who get pissed on without getting pissed off).
zoo	[Zoophilia] Caring and consensual sexual relationships between humans and animals. (See also best)

macro	[Macrophilia] Sex between a normal sized person, and a giant, often colossal partner.
menstr	Sex during a woman's menstruation
micro	[Microphilia]Sex between a normal sized person, and a tiny person, often no bigger than a hand.
preg	[Pregnant] Sex with a pregnant woman or impregnation.
size	Overdeveloped body-parts
tg	Transgendered (Transsexual)
toys	Generally, adult toys
tv	Transvestite - man dressing as woman
veg	Vegetable. Sex with food.

bibl	Biblical. based on a Bible story.
caution	Something is going on that is not covered by the story codes (or which you want to come as a surprise) but which might reasonably be expected to squick a fair number of people.
coll	College-theme
dream	Sexual activity during a dream, (daydream or sleep.)
fanfic	The story is written in the world, and / or contains the characters of another work of fiction.
fat	Involves fat people
furry	Anthropomorphized animals
giant	Abnormally large (tall) persons
goth	Gothic (dark) setting
hist	[Historical] Occurs in the (reasonably distant) past.
hs	High School-theme
humor	Humor. Funny
interr	Interracial
job	Place-of-work theme
parody	Imitation of a style or particular story with the intent to amuse.
ScFi	Science fiction setting. Please note spelling.
size	Overdeveloped body-parts
stroke	Story is intended to convey only sexual charge without plot development.
time	Story involves an unusual application of time; the stopping of time, travel in time, etc.
tragic	Story ends unhappily.
