God's Compensation/Go get yourself a drink of water
You stand up and make your way over to the water cooler, hoping nobody notices your “problem.” Well, if any of them do, they probably won't connect it to what started the problem in the first place. Still though, it is a little bit of an uncomfortable situation. Actually though, you can already feel yourself deflating. That's good. You still want that drink of water now though. A nice cool glass of water to settle your nerves at having to wait here in the waiting room for the indefinite near future.
After you have gotten your paper cup full, you make your way back to your seat sipping on your drink. You let out a long calming sigh as you settle back into your seat, noting as you pass that the squirmy little girl seems to have settled down and is now sitting neatly in her seat. Good, that is one less worry on your mind.
You look up around the room at the other people here, once again exploring out the sights that you are probably going to be seeing a lot of in the next coming hours. Now that you are settling down, you are starting to take a little bit more of an interest in the people around you. You notice though as you look up over your glass that the middle aged man who is sitting across from you seems to be trying to make eye contact.
“Hmm?” You find yourself reflexively responding and locking on to his eyes. A human reflex you suppose, but he does look a little like he wants to say something.
“They're not going to find anything,” he says with a warm smile. What the hell?
