Hraktogala (HRAK-o-GAL-a)

The hraktogala (singular hraktogalk) are a muscular, hermaphroditic race of blue and red rosetted humanoids. Their native planet is Grorgaktl (GRORG-ak-TL), whose gravity of 2.316G is higher than, nitrogen-oxygen atmosphere is comparable to, and average temperature is colder than Earth, but only slightly. Due to these factors, in addition to having evolved from apex predators, they are extremely strong physically compared to humans, but may experience some discomfort due to the temperatures.

Abilities

• Superior Strength: Hraktogala are approximately twice as strong as a human, and can therefore lift heavy objects and jump great distances.
• Broad Spectrum Vision: The hraktogala can see many more colors on the light spectrum, compared to the human spectrum.
• Enhanced Durability: Hraktogala have thick, scaly skin and dense bones, allowing them to take 1.5 times the damage a human can.
• Enhanced Smell: Hraktogala have an enhanced sense of smell, approximately equal to Earth canines (about ten thousand to one hundred thousand times the ability of humans).
• Infrasonic Hearing: Hraktogala can hear sounds that are much lower pitched than can humans.
• Fast Runner: Hraktlogala can easily outpace humans, attaining speeds approximately 1.25 time what a human can achieve. However,they can only maintain these speeds for short periods of time.
• Limited Taste: The varselavesh tongue can only sense salty, sour, sweet, bitter, and delicousness, just like humans.
• Low Light Vision: Hraktogala have exceptional low light vision, equivalent to your average pair of night-vision goggles.
• Sharp Claws: Hraktlogala have sharp claws that they can use in combat, very similar to a cat’s claws.
• Sharp Teeth: Hraktlogala have sharp teeth that they can use in combat, very similar to a shark’s teeth.
• Heat Intolerant: Hraktlogala require a colder climate than humans, without mechanical aid they will struggle in sub-arctic to tropical regions, similar to a human in the deserted regions of Earth.

Biology

Appearance

Hraktlogala are surprisingly human in appearance. They have two arms and two legs, just like humans, but have six digits on their hands and feet. They walk with a upright, bipedal, plantigrade gait like humans. They have two opposable thumbs one each sides of their hands and possess clawed finger and toenails. They have two black eyes, holes rather than external ears, three vertical slits for nostrils, and a mouth lined with pointed, serrated teeth. They all have small breasts, which lactate and produce milk like human women. They are possess structures more similar to down than hair, and possess supple blue skin marked with blood red rosettes.

Genders & Reproduction

Hraktlogala reproduce sexually, and have a single, hermaphroditic gender. The hraktlogalk penis is ranges between 5-8’ when flacid and 7-14.8’ when erect. Hraktlogala sex is very similar to human sex. They have similar sensations and enjoy orgasms just like humans do. Hraktlogala have no fertility cycles, instead reproducing whenever they wish.

Hraktlogala pregnancies comparable than humans. Hraktlogala are pregnant for approximately 10 earth months (just like humans), but single births are a rarity: triplets are common among hraktlogala. They are blind, but develop sight within the first week and are able to 2 mounts after they’re born. Children feed from their mother's milk for about two months after they are born, then transition to solid food.

Aging

Hraktogala suffer from aging like most organic species, however like most of the species in the Galactic Federation, they can suppress and correct the effects of aging indefinitely, making them virtually immortal. Hraktogala reach adulthood after about ten Earth years. Without anti-aging medication they begin showing signs of old age at about thirty-five years old, and can live as long as seventy five years.

Diet

Hraktlogala are omnivores, but earn most of their nutriention from meat. Hraktlogalk biology is highly comparable to the organisms on earth. They have no difficulty consuming terrestrial food, and can easily derive all necessary dietary requirements from it.

Senses

• Visual: Hraktlogala eyes are not very similar to those of humans. Their entire eye is always collecting light, instead of having a contracting pupil, individual receptor cells turn on or off depending on light level. Hraktlogala have a broader range of visual input than humans, seeing colors that they could not possibly describe to humans. They have exceptional vision at night and possess a nictitating membrane to protect their eyes in adverse conditions, which is reflexive and cannot normally be triggered consciously.
• Auditory: Hraktlogala have a discerning and sensitive sense of hearing. Much like Earthly pidgeons, hraktlogala can hear into infrasonic ranges.
• Chemical: Hraktlogala have an enhanced sense of smell, approximately equal to Earth canines (about ten thousand to one hundred thousand times the ability of humans). This also extends to their sense of taste.
• Tactile: The skin of a hraktlogalk is comparable to a human's for level of sensitivity to pressure and temperature. They do not have an advantage or disadvantage compared to humans.

Other Considerations

Hraktlogala have a very easy time making themselves appear human due to the racial similarities. They are one of the few races that could do it easily, though not nearly compared to the Varselavesh.

Government & Culture

Government

Hraktogala have a stratocratic monarchy. The emperessor has supreme authority, but the other territories of the empire are ruled by the highest ranking military chiefs and officers. The empressor chooses a successor from amongst the children of these most powerful people, inclipduing their own, and as such these children are trained and drilled hardest of all children. Millitary service is required by law for at least four earth years: this is not much of a problem as much of the less millitaristic jobs (manual labor, sanitation, etc.) is down by slaves of conquered races, under close watch of slave guards.

Economy

The hraktogala economy is a nationalist capitalism. All of the resources of the hraktogala are considered property of the state, if called on; but for the most part trade and free enterprise is encouraged and endorsed. A empressor can take whatever they want whenever they want it however and the businesses must directly fund the military once they reach a certain size.
