"Woah," you say, looking around the room at everyone clamoring for your attention, "there's only one of me guys."  They become more quiet, and look on in anticipation.  You look directly at Summer. "You look like you can use a break.  Why don't I play with the little ones, so you can relax a bit?"  To tell the truth, playing with the younger kids should give you a bit of a break from all of the perverse impulses you've been feeling . . . and it might pave the way to a closer relationship with Summer.  It might even show her what a good father you could be so she'd be more open to having you knock her up - there you go again!


"You don't have to do that-" Summer begins to reply to be suddenly interrupted by March.


"But, we were supposed to hang out!"  You can see that March was looking forward to your ritual of mutual masturbation.  Showing up unannounced and suddenly going off to play with the youngest of his siblings is definitely not fitting into his plans.


"March Charles Holiday!" says Summer, "it is not polite to interrupt people!"  She then turns to you.  "Look it's sweet that you want to help, but we really do have things handled.  You're a guest.  Why don't you go ahead and spend some time with March?"  You can tell that she would really like the break, but feels compelled to give you an out due to the "Christian" hospitality she has been taught.


"Well, your mom said I was like one of the family," you say as you pick up Nove and cradle her in your arm.  "And family helps each other out.  Besides, there's no reason I can't do both at the same time.  Right March?"


March manages a weak half-grin.  You can almost picture all of his plans crumbling to dust around him.  With your mention of family responsibility he seems to be stuck.  "Uh, yeah . . . sure."


Octo grabs your hand and starts pulling you toward the nursery.  "Were playin' knight's and princessessess."  You chuckle at his stammering attempt at using the plural for princess.  "You can be the king!  I guess March can be the evil dragon."


"Yeah, whatever," says March, defeated.


July and Jan start following you as well.


"Where do you two think you're going?" asks Summer.  "I thought you were swimming July?"


"I don't wanna swim no more!" she says dejected.


"''Any''more," corrects Summer, "and what about you Jan?"


"I was playing with March before Xander even got here!"


"So because he wants to play with the little ones, suddenly you want to as well?"


Jan seems to be struggling to form a reply.


"Look," says Summer, "we can't go crowding Xander like that.  He is a guest in this house, and you will give him his space."  You then hear her say very quietly under her breath "I could sure use some."  You know that no one else could have caught that, but having what amounts to super hearing has it's perks.
