Biography
Maredith has had and been fighting to keep the title of Martin Family Clan Matriarch for 10 years. She claimed leadership of the family after her husband's mother died. It has been a constant behind the scenes struggle between her and her Sister in Law Lora. The two women were practically inseparable until Grandma Martin's death.
The two women have similar but opposing views on how to handle men. Both believe in a strong and independent Matriarch, however where Lora feels that a man's place is beneath her boot, Maredith feels the Matriarchs job is to grind the men down to make them strong so that they can lead the family to greatness. All women other than the Matriarch should know their place, under the strong men of the family, as care givers and breeders. Even the Matriarch must step down and kneel once she is presented with a worthy man, as she does with Tom, when he comes home once a year.
Maredith is completely devistated by her failure with Jack and with the man he has become. She was so busy with her silent struggle with Lora and with her drive to achieve greatness within the school, that she allowed her only son to fall. The realization of her total and catastrophic failure with Jack, snapped something inside her mind and all of her deepest, darkest and most repressed desires rose to the surface. If not kept in check somehow these desires will drive her to more and more depraved acts, in her effort to fix Jack. Currently there is nothing she won't do and no one she will not sacrifice to save her son.
If given any opportunity to strike against Lora in the pursuit of Jacks redemption she will take it, no matter how dark or perverse the act. Or who she will hurt in the process.
When talking with students, faculty or staff of the school, Maredith insists they always refer to her as Mistresses. The only acception to this rule is Helen Moon, who calls her Headmistress, Maredith or Mer, depending on the formality of the conversation. Helen Moon is also the only person who is allowed to ignore it, when Maredith tells her secretary "No interruptions." However she still waits to be announced and allowed admittance to the Headmistress office.
Sexual Knowledge
Maredith has extensive sexual knowledge, She has studied everything she could find on the subject of sex and sexual expression, so as to make her and her body perfect for her husband.
Now she is directing all of this knowledge to turning Jack into the ultimate Alpha Male. Prior to her visit with Jack she was given a vision from Helen, showing her training the Religions next Messiah, "From your own Blood, Beta to Godly Stud, Through him the world will be Changed. Father to a new generation Trained."
