General information

Brownies are generally the friendliest of the fey folk, in general Brownies like most human and humanoid races. However, they were very shy and seldom allow themselves to be seen.

Brownies tended to prefer quiet, pastoral areas. They sometimes inhabit houses or barns, and in return, they help the owners out with household tasks - making or repairing small items of leather, metal, or wood, for example. In keeping with their shyness, they only work at night, perhaps in exchange for small gifts. They are easily offended, however, and would abandon a house if their gifts were called payments, or were are never given.

Brownies dislike hurtful or unfriendly people, if a Brownie were to find themselves sharing a home with someone with evil in their heart. The Brownie will instead damage small tools and cause minor pranks in an effort to drive the bad people away. It that failed they would move on to a happier home.

Brownies tend to be among the most emotionally stable of the fey races, having the emotional maturity of their equivalent in human years. Except when offended or angered in which case they have been known to throw tantrums that could rival a small child.

Racial Features

Brownies vary in size starting around one foot and up to three feet in height, however like all their kin, they can temporarily increase their size to up to five feet, in order to better interact with larger races, if deemed necessary.

They have eye and skin coloration similar to humans, however their hair can be of any color found in nature.

Lifespan

Brownies age at the normal human rate until they turn twenty, at which time they stop aging. They have no maximum life span, though they can die by other means.

Immunities and weakness

Brownies are immune to the natural elements and are resistant to all forms of magical elemental injury. They can heal from almost any physical wound except for injuries caused by cold-iron.

Lamptons

Due to their lifespan and unpredictable nature Brownies are not permitted to be Students or Faculty at Lamptons, however a few have agreed to make Lamptons their habitation and carry out the usual daily tasks that Brownies would do. This mostly consists of things like janitorial work or taking down notes on any students breaking curfew. They have developed a good enough relationship with the upper level staff of Lamptons that these reports are submitted to the head mistress at the end of each night.
