Mary and her husband William got two amazing new job offers overseas, ones that have great pay, amazing benefits, and allows for them to be together working side-by-side. The catch, however, is that their preteen son Tyler can't stay in the company provided residencies, and the initial contract has them overseas for a whole year. Under normal circumstances they would just turn the the offers down, but this past year hasn't been kind to the three.

A while back Mary and Tyler got into a car accident on the way back from the store. Mary was fine, but Tyler suffered a few broken bones and a concussion. He's since made a full recovery, only occasionally needing some pain medicine to help him sleep, but the medical bills coupled with the damage done to their car left them in dire financial straits. As a result, this new job offer was a godsend, but between not being able to bring Tyler and both sets of parents unable to take him in themselves, things were looking bleak until you came to town for a visit.

Having the income, freedom, and space necessary to take in a child you gladly offered to watch over him. You spent the rest of the visit planning on what to do and breaking the news to Tyler. At first he was sad and confused as to why he couldn't go with them, but the idea of moving across the country to live with his aunt, along with the promise of as many visits as possible, eventually won him over.

All of that led up to today, the day of his arrival. Unable to get the funds for a flight out here ahead of time, William asked Jack, his best friend since childhood who's watched over their son before when they took a private vacation, to bring him out here. Given that Jack's a long-haul trucker with delivers out near your apartment complex, he had no problem playing chauffeur for the boy.

Hearing the coffee pot beep you whip yourself up a cup and take a minute to savor the flavor. Knowing you still have a some time left before they arrive, you ponder what to do in the meantime. Tyler has the spare key you sent him and one of the security guards you're friends with has been informed and promised to keep and eye out for them, so technically you don't have to leave...
