Mary and her husband William got two amazing new job offers overseas, ones that have great pay, amazing benefits, and allows for them to be together working side-by-side. The catch, however, is that their teenage son Tyler can't stay in the company provided residencies, and the initial contract has them overseas for a whole year. At first they were going to turn it down, but Tyler, ever the smart boy, could see how great an opportunity this was for his parents and urged them to take it.
Which is where you come in. William was a single child and his parents were in a comfortable retirement community, while your and Mary's own parents didn't have the room to support a teenage boy, leaving you, a single woman with a well paying job, a flexible work scheduled, and most importantly an apartment intended for more than one person. It took lots of planing between the three of you, making you his temporary legal guardian, switching his schools, and arranging his travel plans, but you managed to get it all taken care of and his flight should be landing within the hour.
And with that thought in mind you try to remember how he's getting to your place, the last vestiges of sleep making it difficult to recall.
