SW:CES:NC: Twi’lek Female
One of the most recognizable races of the Star Wars universe, the Twi’leks are a hairless, mammalian, humanoid species that hail from the rocky, desert planet of Rhloth. The defining features of this race are their vast array of skin colors and their head tentacles, known as lekku.
Lekku are, also called “tchun-tchin,” are connected directly to the brain, highly sensitive, and are used for communication-with the Twi’lek language Ryl being based on words and subtle lekku movements-fat storage and are erogenous zones. Lekku are great status symbols: the larger the lekku, the more attractive the Twi’lek is too other Twi’lek, although they are born without them, growing in as they age. The name "tchun-tchin" actually refers to the left and right lekku respectively. Also of note, while generally they have two, some individuals are born with four lekku. The ears of Twi’lek males are human looking, but females have simple cone shaped organs.
Twi’lek come in many different skin colors, ranging in many hues of blue, red, yellow, orange, deep green, white, pale brown, pink, and lavender. Some Twi'leks even exhibited varied phenotypes, including stripes, orange with red mottling, red with pink palms, and blue with pink lips. It should be noted that the two most rare subraces are those of the blue pigments, know as Rutians, and the red pigments, known as Lethans who are the rarest and highly prized by slavers.
Twi’leks are among the most common slave races in the galaxy, with their exotic looks and natural powers of seduction. Slavery is even common among them, especially of the rarer skin hues, and is the primary currency of Rhloth. Those that escape generally either turn to thievery or prostitution, regardless of sex. Most Twi’leks are either traders or criminals, but the race also has a proud warrior tradition, though in general they prefer to stay out of large-scale political issues, and on Rhloth, each city was ruled by its own clan, headed by five members, until one member died, and a new clan takes their place.
