Chapter 1 - Issekai'ed

Blue. Azur. Sapphire. Cerulean. These were the words that seemed to reverberate in my mind as I stared the waves, high up from the top of the cliff where I stood. You should know where this is going right? If you are one of those people who seem to hope for "bed of roses" kind of perspective in everything, then I am sorry. Because I was there to end my life. The reason was stupid. Idiotic. Foolish. Hal-witted. But the reason existed. The reason was shallow and I may have probably given an uppercut to my younger self back then for trying to commit suicide. But I was 18 and hopelessly in love. I was loyal and that was my mistake. Being goody two shoes leads to nothing but despair, especially if that's the reason for your girl cheating on you for more than a year behind your back. Blue. Azur. Sapphire. Cerulean. The colors seemed to call me. The waves circled the foot of the cliff and made intricate designs using the motions of ripples. It seemed to be calling me with open arms. I spread my arms wide and gave a last smile to the sun. Thank you, god, for making me exist in this world. And thanks for making me an orphan, otherwise I wouldn't have reached for such a decision so quickly. And with that last thanks, I put one foot ahead into the open air. The floor of wind does provide a quick shiver but I am more than ready to take the plunge. I put the other foot in the air and feel the winds passing by me as gravity rushes to slide me down. This feels like a rollercoaster with the exception that I can't look down and scream in ecstasy. It's too hard. I feel the winds slowly becoming shallow and coldness approaches me from left, right, and center. So I am about to hit the rock bottom. "Eric Hammond, your journey ends now," I thought. People say that a person always talks to himself in the third person when the situation is dire. But I didn't know that my journey wasn't about to end, it was about to start. My death was not about to cease my existence but lead me to a place where I began the tale, the legend, the saga of a lolimancer.

Windhelm forest, Jacob-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jacob ran through the woods with a pace that was jeopardizing his health. He was 50 years old. A 50 years old human male. Elves and Beastkin could certainly run a mile without breaking a sweat at double his age. He took a quick look at his back. Husky Centaurs were after him. They were clad in black robes for the top portion of their body which resembled humans but those groovy four legs and fur-covered horse-like body could easily scare a child who stumbles upon them accidentally. They are among the fastest running creatures to inhabit this world. Even they were bewildered as to how was a mere old human outpacing them. The exasperation fueled their anger and they accelerated. But when the woods grew thick, they lost sight of him.

Jacob took a peek at them from the shrubs where he hid while covering himself with mud from a nearby swamp. Those Centaurs had a keen sense of smell too. Sometimes he questioned the god about the purpose of humans in this world. They were average in everything. Elves were skilled warriors as well as researchers, humans were average in that. Beastkin could handle a blade as easily as a person breathes via his nose, humans were only getting-by in that department. No wonder, only a small portion of them were left in this world. And most of the human kings were slave emperors by this point.

The Centaurs begin to search here and there but still can't predict the location of the human. Except, they know that even if he had exceptional legs for his age, he doesn't have the stamina to last this long. And they could have easily predicted his location by the sound of his footsteps, for they can hear its rhythm even if the human was a mile away from them.

Jacob remembers the prophecy of the witch of Northgrave. The world would collapse after 5 years and an angel sent by heavens can save them. The angel was supposed to be a creature that demolished his desire to exist in his world and needed an escape. And that angel would be human. Humans in this world have become too weak. A vast majority of them have accepted that they will continue to be the weak creature, that can be toyed by the "elite" creatures. The centaurs are slowly approaching near him. He doesn't have much time. They are here to kill him. The witch gave vague instructions to him. He had to take care of five little girls who were babies when the witch gave them to him. She was about to go on an adventure of her own. She had to do her part to turn the tables for the upcoming doom. He was told to take care of them until the angel arrives in their world. At first, it was just out of duty and obligation but slowly they became a part of him. They weren't just his daughters but an extension of him despite not being blood-related -

Lilia(12); A pretty elf with cute pointed ears. She was the most intelligent among them (being an elf of course) but had a bad case of mood swings. Sherry(13); A fox girl who loves to play a prank on others and the most mischievous among all. But it's just because she has a hard time telling others about her real feelings and so makes a joke out of everything to hide that weakness of hers. Kathy(14); Like Sherry, she's also a beastkin but belongs to the family of cats. She's one of the few who has the ability of shapeshifting. She's a tsundere but she looks after the other girls like the eldest sister because...she's, in fact, the eldest among them. Abigail and Olivia(both 10); they are twins and the youngest of them all. They both are from the demon race. Abigail is an introvert and to escape her shyness she appears as aloof and cold. But Olivia is the exact opposite and brims confidence because of her hyper nature.

Yes, he can't help remembering his daughters, especially since he knew the time is less. His death is slowly approaching. He looks at the sky to pray the gods when...he sees something falling from the sky. "Holy shi-" he readies himself to make his way out of there as he saw something. Something that he was waiting for all these years. The angel was descending to the land.

Windhelm forest, Eric--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What's this? The last thing I can recall was me, hitting the water. I felt the ice-cold fluid rushing at me from all sides. The pain was sharp. My back was aching and my body felt lifeless. And yet I could see nothing but a calmness all around me. Blue. Green. Sapphire. The colors, from here, seemed a bit different. I was unable to breathe. My mouth, nose, and all the muscles were tearing me from inside, begging me for a dose of their elixir of life- oxygen. But I was calm. The approaching death felt beautiful. This final exit felt soothing. Whiteness begins to surround me. Or So the demise was near, or so I thought...

Until I felt myself falling through empty air. The winds were far more chilly, far more intense. They sent shivers down my spine and their pressure on my back felt as if thousand invisible needles were pinching me. I took control of my body and turned 180 degrees. I shouldn't have. There was nothing but green woods all around, as far as wherever my eyes went. That greenery was terrifying. I chose water for a reason. Blood rushed back to my brain. Shit! Shit! Shit! No god, save me, I don't want to die such a painful death. But I think my suspicions on him were right. God doesn't listen. Am I a heretic? Why the fuck doesn't he listen to me. I wave my hands to make swimming motions in the air. Fool. Dumbfuck. Those words penetrate my thoughts. Nothing could save me. The greenery approaches near, more close, closer. Now I think I can probably count the number of leaves on the trees. But I wouldn't have enough time to do that. I approach the height of a full-length tree and brown muddy ground enters my view. That's gonna be a hard fall. Thwack. Bump! Splish-splash!!! Such were the sounds I was expecting but I feel nothing. A silhouette approaches down below and catches me in its arms. I am too perplexed to say anything. Oh...he's a man. An oldie at that. "I didn't know if I would ever be able to fulfill my duty. When you didn't come all these years I thought we were doomed. The fate was sealed. But you came, O Angel. You came...at last. I don't have much time. Let me transfer the miasma to you." "Wha-" But before I can say something, he embraced me. That was suspicious and odd but what came next was just revolting. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. There's no other word to describe the sensation. His embrace was wounding my soul. My arms, legs, and everything were okay but my insides seemed to have been stirred. Cold spears seemed to have been thrown inside me in large numbers. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. Pain. My brain screamed again and again. He left me just when I was about to fall unconscious. I demand an answer but my throat is parched. I need water for fuck's sake. "The fate of the world is in your hands. Your helpers are waiting for you at the end of this straight path. The girls are in the hut. I don't have much time. I need to run away. If somehow gods let me live, I will see you by tonight. If not, then tell my daughters that I died. Shit...here they come..." He bows before me one last time before running away.

I stood there analyzing what the fuck has just happened. I threw myself from the cliff and found myself in this weird world. I mean...there's nothing weird about it from a physical perspective but the events that transpired after I escaped from death, in the arms of a weird old man...it's just...plain weird. A few seconds later, two horse-like beings approached me. Wait! horse-like beings. What the -

"Hey, weird human. What type of cloth is that?" "T-Th-This..." Another one who looks a little more mature and less ferocious hits him in the head. "We don't have time for that idiot. Why do you always have to focus on these things? That's why that human was able to run away. You..." he points his blade at me "Did you see an old human running around here?" "Th-Th-Tha-That way..." I reflexively point my fingers where the old man ran away. They don't reply but starts to run in that direction. Horse-people. Centaurs. Where the fuck have I arrived??????????????????
