"I enjoyed that little show."
The voice made me jump; a man had sat down at my table; he was tall and skinny, and judging by the streaks of gray in his hair maybe in his fifties. I didn't know what to say. He stuck his hand out; "Freddie," he said.
I shook it; "Francis."
"You like the little ones then," he said; we could both still see the Poppy waving. I nodded; I could hardly deny it.
