I slept in and by the time I had dressed in shorts and T-shirt I was too late for breakfast. I thought about going to the pool where they sold coffee and pastries, but decided to see what the town looked like in daylight.

I hopped on the shuttle bus and found the pedestrian area which was quite busy but I soon found a table outside a cafe from where I could people-watch to my heart's content. Fortified with a large coffee and a plate of tasty Empanadas, I sat and enjoyed the view. The shop opposite was some kind of sex shop and it was amusing to see parents hurrying their kids past the window display; although I noticed that some of them were happy to let them stop and look.

The street started off fairly upmarket but got shabbier and more sleazy further down; I even had to avoid being accosted by a couple of teenage tarts who were hanging around on a street corner, untroubled by the cop sitting nearby in his car. Eventually I reached the harbour which was a reminder of the fishing village origin of the town. There were some small boats drawn up on the sand, but some looked as if they hadn't been moved for years.
