You go and open your front door. It's your neighbor, Mrs. Jones.

"Mr. Peterson, I heard crying and screaming; is everything all right?" She asks as she peers inside your home, noticing the brat you took in standing nearby.

"Everything's fine... it's just that..." Mrs. Jones ignores you and rudely walks inside and toward the girl who was making all of the ruckus.

"Are you okay, sweetie?" Mrs. Jones asks her.

The kid looks at you with a smirk and then back at the woman. "No... I'm NOT okay! This old man... he.. he just told me my mommy died!"

The woman looks horrified as she hugs the child tightly against her chest. "Oh, sweetie, that's horrible."

The girl starts to cry again and then sniffles a few times. You're not sure what type of game she's playing, if any, but you don't really care either way. "My mommy was all I had left. My daddy died when I was only three years old. And now... now I'm in this strange man's house."

"Mr. Peterson! What is this sweet, innocent, child doing here with you?"

"I'm not really sure. I thought I could help her but she's been acting like a brat ever since I brought her home."

The woman takes a step back and puts her hand against her mouth in surprise. "That's no way to speak to a child! Especially one who just lost her mother!" She turns toward the child, "What's your name sweetie?"

Oh yeah, her civilian name; you did mean to ask her that earlier; you remember hearing it a few years ago but you didn't intend to ever use it.

"It's Olivia... Olivia Johnson."

"Olivia," that was the name; the name you tried to forget, along with her mother's, "Alicia". A few years ago, you would have been sad that Alicia was killed so horribly, but you tried to forget everything about her, including her daughter, "Olivia".

"I'm taking care of Olivia for now. Her mother Alicia was killed last night in a horrible accident. Thankfully a hero rescued Olivia before they could get her too."

You're not sure why you still maintain an alternative identity; perhaps it's because you still want to experience what it would be like to be a human - living like a normal man, in a normal house, with a normal family, working a normal job.

Shit... you forgot that your "normal job" started almost an hour ago.

"Mrs. Jones, we really need to take care of some things alone here. It's time to go for now, perhaps we can both join you and your family for dinner tomorrow evening. How does that sound?"

"Really!?" The woman asks incredulously. "My my, we would love to have you and Olivia over! Come by at 6pm. Olivia, I can't wait for you to meet my daughter Nikki; I bet you'll both get along swell!"

"I can't wait..." Olivia says as you nudge Mrs. Jones out the door.

As soon as the door shuts, Olivia asks you the question you were expecting, "How do you know my mother's name?"
