You were fifteen when you got pregnant with Ronnie. Her father could have been any one of several boys at that party. All you can really remember is waking up on a strange bed, naked and covered in spunk. It was after that decided to become a Goth and stay clear of drugs and alcohol.

After you missed two periods, you had to confess to your Mum that you were pregnant. She was pretty good about it and after Ronnie was born she became like a second mother to her. The problems started when she met Sean. He seems nice enough at first, even with all the tattoos, but it soon became clear that it wasn't just Mum that he fancied. At first, it was comments about the way I dressed, then he started coming into the bathroom when I was in the bath.

You were surprised to get flat in Godwin's so quickly after applying. They said there was some government scheme and you soon found myself moving into flat fourteen. The upside was that you were free and independent. You could leave Ronnie in the creche when you went to work and things soon settled down. The downside was being stuck at home in the evening because there was no one to look after Ronnie. Some of the girls at work went to a self-defence/keep-fit class on Thursday evenings and I'd seen some cards on the noticeboard asking for babysitters, so I put one up for myself.

Jason was a surprise. You had seen him around the flats of course and knew that his dad was the caretaker, but you had never thought about having a boy as a babysitter. He seems like a nice lad, quite good looking in a way and the thought crossed my mind that in a couple of years time, with all these young girls in the flats, he might find himself in great demand and not just for babysitting. Ronnie is not used to being around men, but when Jason sits on the floor and plays with her she soon gets over her initial shyness and we come to an agreement that he will babysit for a couple of hours every Thursday evening.
