As usual, you wake up in the morning with an erection. Also, as usual, you have a wank to make it go down, but this time instead of thinking about the film stars on your wall or even Rachel, the girl in your class that you fancy but have never really spoken to, you think about your sister.
At school, you see that it's the day the school nurse visits. She comes regularly and if anybody gets seen scratching their heads they sent to her be checked for nits, something you've avoided so far. She makes it clear that anyone can come to her with any kind of problem and she guarantees that it will stay confidential. You have heard some boys boasting that she has checked out more than their heads, but you don't believe them. Acting on the spur of the moment, and seeing that there is no queue outside her door, you go in to see her.
You've never really looked properly at the nurse before and now you're sat facing her, you realise that she is actually quite attractive, and not all that old either. It takes you a while to get around to talking about what you really want to discuss as she goes through the usual routine of taking your temperature and your blood pressure and tells you to take your shirt off so she can check you over. Eventually, you get around to asking what it is you really want to know.
You tell her what happened on Sunday afternoon when you started wrestling with Janet and ended up kissing her and then getting an erection before going to your room and thinking about what she'd be like naked.
"Did you masturbate while you were thinking about your sister," the nurse asks, and you feel yourself blushing as you admit that that's exactly what you did.
"And now you feel guilty about it I imagine," she says, and you nod.
"It's not unusual for brothers and sisters to experiment together," she says. "Grown-ups never talk about sex, especially to children, and I expect you've only got a rough idea of how it works. To be honest, I know the Village well and I'm surprised that a boy your age from there hasn't already had at least some experience; at least with other boys if not girls your own age or younger."
You're pretty shocked to hear the nurse talking like this. "Are you saying that it's okay for me and Janet to do stuff together," you ask.
"I'm saying that sex is something that almost everyone does; some people, and especially people in the Village, seemed to start pretty early on, while others don't really start until they're quite grown-up. The church says that you shouldn't have sex until you're married, but hardly anybody takes any notice of that."
She opened her bag and gives you a book. "Have a read through this," she says, "the book will help with some of the mechanics, but I want you to remember the golden rule… Whatever you do it must always be consensual; that means that everyone involved should be happy and you should never force anyone to do anything they don't want to.
She sits looking at you for a few moments and you find yourself blushing again. "You know," she says, "sex can be complicated and if it's the first time for both parties, it sometimes doesn't work out all that well. She smiles. "I could help you with that if you want me to."
"Maybe the stories are true," you think.
