Nine years later and your days are filled with charity work and volunteering as a magistrate. Sex has become something that only really happens when you both get drunk and you assume that this will be your life indefinitely. Then John says he wants to talk to you about the children, and it's important. You go into the study where you won't be interrupted. He offers you a brandy, you settle for sherry and sit down in one of the armchairs.

"So what do you think they get up to when they're on their own upstairs all the time," he asks.

You shrug and tell him about how you saw Andrew kissing Janet.

He shocks you and says that he thinks that they're fucking like rabbits every chance they get, and not only that, he thinks that Andrew is probably fucking Susan as well. You help yourself to another sherry and ask him what he thinks you should do about it. Thankfully, he dismisses the idea of sending them away to boarding school.

In the end, he says; ""I really don't think… Fuck it! There's not much we can do except getting Jane on the pill as soon as she reaches puberty. Oh! Maybe buying Andrew a box of condoms in case he is sowing his oats in more fertile ground."

You think back to your childhood on the farm, being fucked by your brothers and your father, not to mention the animals. "I suppose it could be worse," you say.
