Talk:Dirty Talk/Three Brats/The Week of June 21st to 27th, 2021
well i don't know from which part of the story this is (i know is after stella at least) but i can say i like where this is going and i like supernatural stuff a lot i mean the whole game idea is amazing for storytelling (as long as is not just emilia start to fly out of nowhere without explanation or shooting lasers, i think the supernatural is great when is done in a way it does make sense storywise like the gods speaking to someone or the punishments are great ways to add supernatural stuff) --Xephion (talk) 03:08, 22 October 2022 (CEST)
It's funny you brought Marianne into the mix here. I was starting to mess around with a "Talk to Sven" route and had the same thought about her and Sven hanging out. However I was thinking it would be interesting for her to not know about the game, but I technically only allude to it, and the way I've written things it could be taken a couple different ways, so I might just finish up my little scene and post it while leaving that possibility and you can see how you like my take on her. Always up for revisions!
I'm not in favor of hard supernatural stuff. Iike a bird showing up at a weird time/place or an otherwise "natural" thing as an omen, or people interpreting things in the context of the myths, totally up for those kinds of additions, where a character's "faith" in whatever thing is what drives their belief and decision making. Weird coincidences casting doubt on nonbelievers to affect how they act is great. But I can't take literal premonitions and dis/appearing things seriously. But also, to hell with me! Write what you like! --Villenia (talk) 04:15, 22 October 2022 (CEST)
Without giving too much about my plans for the supernatural here away, it is the midsummer week, which is a very magical time indeed. Lots of traditions tied up to that, and lots of articles online about how it's historically been tied to "celebration of fertility", for example. All of this can be done with or without relying on the paranormal, and while I have a preference, I also like the challenge of explaining stuff with logic and reason.
As for what the supernatural would look like... For me, the whole point of the supernatural in this story is not only to tie it up to the enforcement of the rules in the game, to instill fear and doubt on any one who even thinks about breaking the rules, but also to tie it with local folktales. While I have had ideas for some real wacky stuff, it's mostly just to create an atmosphere of uncertainty to the participants, not to give people super powers. In that sense, the supernatural is meant to be almost "naturalistic" with how pagan and shamanistic it is. ("magic" tied to nature.) To allude back to what Sanni talked about the Huldra on a few pages back, for example, that specific creature has been a HUGE inspiration for me as far as Star-Bearers go, especially when it comes to their relationship with Lauhatar. That's something I've wanted to explore for a long time. To quote This cheap-ass looking page: "the way a Hulder reacts to you is based on how you treat her. Treat her with respect and she may reward you, treat her cruelly and receive the same. The moral of this story is treat others how you want to be treated." Just food for thought. 😉 -- Innocent Ruin (talk) 06:36, 22 October 2022 (CEST)
i mean this sounds good as long as it doesn't become super unnatural, i don't see why not to the supernatural after all the story already has that with the entire symbols and punishments system and i like how disconnected the gods are but at the same time i do want to know more about them, btw love how all this pages have been looking lately the conversation definitely feel more natural great work, thank you for this amazing story to both of you --Xephion (talk) 19:58, 23 October 2022 (CEST)
Alright, appreciate the feedback from both of you. Think I'll continue with "business as usual" with the supernatural undertones (which have been a part of the story since the very beginning) with some expansions. I'll scrap the more "extreme" plans from this route. -- Innocent Ruin (talk) 12:32, 24 October 2022 (CEST)
Wait wait wait don't scraped anything how extreme was it? give us an example i don't like people scraping content at all because remember what i said before people can grow into it i mean ffs villenia made me like a watersports scene --Xephion (talk) 21:24, 24 October 2022 (CEST)
Don't panic! I'm not scrapping extreme sexual content! Pippi is, after all, fucking insane, and she, if anyone, is capable of making people do anything without making them feel like they're being enslaved or controlled in doing so! When I said "extreme" I meant more like extreme in the supernatural direction. I'm not gonna say what I exactly scrapped, as I will still use those ideas as inspiration for the future. 😉 -- Innocent Ruin (talk) 21:45, 24 October 2022 (CEST)
yeah no i know you didnt meant sex but still i you had a supernatural thing you wanted to do is your story go crazy man you never know we may end up liking it --Xephion (talk) 21:47, 24 October 2022 (CEST)
