Once we get to the foyer and speak with Mr. Granville, we can add that Tatiana shows some progress in curing her lesbianism, while Sylvia on the other hand, shows zero progress (true, today's negative experience has only strengthened her hatred of men.)

We can also say that keeping them together is also an added punishment for Sylvia, because she was the cause of this whole ordeal and she seems to also want to "protect" Tatiana from something.
