I have a different version of this scene in mind for the confident Jack route where he does a far better job by talking about her daughter instead of her, and thus actually getting her to open up by appealing in a way that sends "good mate" signals to her instead of just sounding like he's clumsily trying to get in her pants with cheap shallow words.
