This is exactly why I love letting others pick the route before I write it. When I make the options, I always have a result in my mind where every single route succeeds in the character's intentions. However, when I get some time separated from the writing and someone else picks it, I can easily envision which ones are likely to actually work and which ones will have unexpected consequences consistent with the characters and lore I've set up.
