With my knowledge of (non HP) possession, the longer the souls remain in the same vessel, the more intertwined they become, making it near impossible to distinguish the two let alone separate them.

Hearing Emily's internal pleas, Voldemort can take control:

After further thought, it would be VERY beneficial to have the statue on our side. Can she be relocated? If so, Voldemort may have plans to take revenge on the bitch that killed Bellatrix (Molly Weasley), by having the statue take the form of Voldemort and breaking her daughter.
