This should make things clear to the reader - the timeline that Voldemort and Emily are in is not exactly the same as the Harry Potter books (Bellatrix not in Azkaban, Emily at Hogwarts instead of Beaubatons).

However, you might have thought that the timeline from which Voldemort came was the same as the original Harry Potter books, but this is not the case, and his memory of the Horcruxes being different to the fates which we, the readers know, demonstrates this.

What this means is that the story can be similar, but not identical to the original Harry Potter stories, and even when it is identical, Voldemort won’t be able to predict everything ahead of time.

I hope this makes things a bit more enjoyable, and less predictable, for the reader. It certainly will make things more fun for me to write. It’s also a little loophole for me fucking up small details. So long as what I write is consistent with other things I have written, it’s ok Emily (talk) 20:45, 20 February 2023 (UTC)

Hmm regarding divergences, In this timeline perhaps things are a bit different.

  • There is a third child that shares a birthday with Neville and Henrietta and they are the Horcrux this time.
  • Sirius did kill Pettigrew
  • In this timeline, Henrietta Potter lives with her wizard parents
  • In this timeline, Dumbledore allowed Petunia Evans to tour Hogwarts. Petunia is also friendly to the wizarding world
  • Because Lily is still alive, Snape is still loyal to Voldemort

With each alteration, it'll throw new twists at the story.

I like the world so far. --MrPib (talk) 00:00, 21 February 2023 (UTC)

  • I’ll definitely be making some minor changes. It might be Voldemorts timeline that differs from the books more than Emily’s. The problem is that even a relatively minor change eventually has a Butterfly Effect on events, leading to very different outcomes later on. This isn’t a problem but it can be hard to be consistent is all. For example, given that Sirius is still in Azkaban, and Bellatrix isn’t, would she have any claim to the Black Family estate and Grimauld Place? Also, how would her and Emily stand in relation to the English side of Lestrange family inheritance? Emily (talk) 08:54, 21 February 2023 (UTC)
