A Note On Stats

For those who want to write for this story, here is how the stats in the template work.

Value

Human range is 1-20. 5 is average human level, 20 is human maximum . . . the VERY best humanity can possibly achieve. Only the top three (primary attributes) of each area are independent, the others are calculated as described below. (I intend to have the template do this automatically at some point in the future.)

Attributes:

Attributes are broken down into Physical, Mental, and Social categories. In each of these categories there are three primary attributes and three secondary attributes:

Primary attributes:

Primary attributes are the most important attributes in that they are the only attributes that the player can directly adjust with points. Secondary attributes are derived from primary attributes. The are three primary attribute types:

  • Reaction: This is how well the character reacts to outside stimuli in the environment. The character’s Reflexes, Perception, and Empathy.
  • Effect: This is how effective or powerful the character is in relation to the category. The character’s Strength, Knowledge, and Presence.
  • Resistance: This is how durable, and resistant to external stimuli the character is in relation to the category. The character’s Resilience, Willpower, and Confidence.

Secondary Attributes:

Secondary attributes are calculated from primary attributes by set formulas regardless of the category. There are three secondary attribute types:

  • Action: This is how likely the character is to succeed at actions in relation to the category. The character’s Dexterity, Logic, and Charisma. It is calculated as ((Reaction*2 + Effect)/3).
  • Quickness: This is how quickly and efficiently the character can act in relation to the category. The character’s Speed, Wit, and Rapport. It is calculated as ((Reaction + Effect*2)/3).
  • Capacity: This determines how much a character can do in relation to the category before they are incapacitated by overuse. The character’s Stamina, Focus, and Influence. It is calculated as ((Reaction + Effect + Resistance*2)/4).
