This left a sour taste in the boy's mouth, but he still craved to know where the pathway would leave. It's true what he just said, and that he was reckless for just accepting that without no proper thoughts given to the situation. He looks back at the man sobbing one last time before going to the bathroom. There was no point in talking to him, especially since he was the one who began the interaction to his downfall. He'll just get found by someone else and dragged out, or maybe played more with. If Dad was the one to find him...Would he be doing the same thing as the Guard? Somehow, he knew it would have been no.

Inside the bathroom, he rummaged the stuff left over by the guard. He had a sword along with a knife on a belt. The sword was too big for the boy, but he took the knife. It was in it's own leather sheathe, allowing it to be set on the rim of his pants. A bit awkward, but it gave him some defense if something was to happen outside. He could just dump it later before going home in case the man somehow blames everything on him...Which he knew won't be the case anyway because what kind of grown up gets into this sort of consequence by a kid? He also picked up all of his coins from his pants and set them in his inner pockets.

He activated the tile that leads back to the secret area. When he went away from the guard, he took the right path. It seems he could have went left.
