The Story of Hanna/Slave Market/Day One/Explore the area

No use in staying in your bed, so you stand up, slow and groggy. Aphrodisiacs are weighing heavily on your body after all, but you'll walk it off in no time.

And so, you step outside your little cell to inspect the area behind the bars. The room is a large one, about a size of medium sized convenience store. It's two to three times as long as it is wide, and across the longer walls, there are little bunks similar to yours hidden behind bars, maybe about a dozen on each side. The place is held up partially by eight pillars situated in the middle of the room, each of them an equal distance away from each other, dividing the room into fifteen blocks of equal size. Overall, this place looks empty and soulless, as there is nothing else between the two long walls. There are a total of three guards present as well, all of who are adult men, all dressed in grey steel plate, wearing a purple robe and wielding a staff, as well as a sword on their waists.

On both far ends of the room, there are doorways out from the place. The other ones are decorated with white tiles, which suggests that the toilets Gilles mentioned yesterday are located there. This leaves the other doorway to be an exit. It is guarded by a fourth additional guard standing on the outside, and based on what you see, it seems like girls truly can come and go out from the room as they please. At very least the guard had nothing to say to a young teenage girl who just left the room.

That's when you realize that in the room you're in are only girls who you assume to be "children". Mostly teens and preteens can be found here, but there are also a couple of girls who look just as young as you do. Overall, you can't imagine the average age of the girls in this room to be any higher than thirteen. Yesterday you saw some adults outside this room, so you have to assume that the sleeping quarters are segregated by age, but until you get your confirmation, you can't know for sure.

You continue to explore the room you're in independently and walk towards the restroom. Again, there are no doors, simply a corridor. It's shaped like an "U", so it does offer some privacy, but from who? You assume that guards can enter these restrooms if need be. Maybe it's to protect slaves from customers? Anyway, the restroom is a simple one, with four toilet stalls - which luckily have doors - and a long sink with faucets that can be used both for drinking and for washing hands. No showers or baths here though; those are located in a different place. There are towels and a dozen mugs as well, but they are all dirty. Otherwise the toilet is very clean and well-maintained, if you ignore the fact that two of the locks the doors have are broken. Someone probably had to break in when someone hid in the toilets, or something like that. You take your time to pee, to wash your hands, and to drink a little bit to help you last through the day. Might as well, since you're in a toilet.

Now, you walk out from bathroom, and you're ready to explore the area further. Will you…

or will you ask for a guide?

  • Ask a guard, since they probably know how to help you the best.
  • Ask some slave, since you might as well make friends while you're here.
