You lay in bed, mulling over what Mother told you. She and Father of always been rather distant figures in your lives and it seems a bit odd that she should suddenly be taking an interest. You think about your feelings when you kissed Janet and her response. " How can it be wrong," you think, and you think about what the school nurse said and without really making a conscious decision you slip out of bed and tiptoe across the passage.

You open Janet's bedroom door as quietly as you can and when you look through the crack it looks as if she's asleep. You creep in to have a closer look and kneel on the floor beside her. "Are you awake," you whisper.

She looks a bit cross when she opens her eyes. "What do you want?"

She says something about brothers and sisters so you decide to tell her what the nurse said about one rule.

"What rule," she says, but she holds the quilt up and moves out of the way so that you can snuggle in beside her. "Were you talking to the school nurse about us," she asks.

You explain how you were worried about having feelings for your sister and that the nurse told you that it wasn't unusual and that lots of brothers and sisters feel the same. She asks you what you mean by feelings and you roll on your side to face her and put your arm across her.

"The feeling that I want to kiss you all the time and maybe do all the things that boys and girls can do together and the rule she spoke about was that when it comes to sex anything is okay so long as everyone agrees and that nobody should ever do anything that the other person isn't okay with."

She looks at you and whispers;
