I've decided to do this part as a branching-rejoining system. The paths are going to stay about the same over then next few passages, but can be very different based on the order in which you choose them. Hopefully some paths can be made to end up at the same place allowing branches to finally re-merge in this ever-branching story. Logically the "best" and "worst" paths won't be able to remerge, but possibly many in the middle can be finagled to do so.
