I get the impression Elerneron may have meant it for something like that, but it wasn't very well planned in that direction. At any rate, the very mechanics that seemed to have been meant to tie it together for game-like purposes seem to have actually pushed the narrative apart into a truly branching story that will never see any chance of any story-line reconverging.
