You quickly answer the man in the affirmative, rattling off the badge number immediately. With this, it’s a guarantee he’s never going to be able to lay a hand on his daughter again. What’s more, you’re relatively certain this guy who has gone and started recording everything will probably handle everything for you just fine. This guy probably fancies himself some kind of internet activist, and he’s showing the most self-motivation of anybody here in moving things forward here. As for everyone else, they seem to be caught up in the bystander effect and while they may talk about doing something nobody actually takes any action.

“What’s going on?” You hear the voices of the younger kids who were previously playing baseball. You had half an eye on them before and had noticed they were distracted by the sight of what was going on. The adults had been encouraging them to continue their game, but it looks as though the game has finally fallen apart and, beings you’re her brother, Roni seems to see this as an excuse for her to come right up brazenly and ask about the cause of all this stuff. “Is that Billy!?” She has a surprised look on her face smeared with a little bit of schadenfreude.

“Roni, not now!” You give her a serious look warning her not to mess with Billy. “I don’t need you making things worse.”

“So she’s your little sister?” Trish says beside you, to which you give a nod. Trish follows this up immediately by throwing an arm around Roni and addressing her. “Here, honey, how about you go over there with your big sister for a bit, Ok? Your brother has to deal with something sensitive right now.”

“What happened though!?” Roni demands.

“Just… just ask your sister, she’ll tell you.” Trish orders, sending Roni off with a somewhat wronged-seeming expression.

“Mommy?” The former boy, now shy little girl named Danica, as you remember from the hack’s read-out when you changed her gender, addresses her mother. Trish, in response to this, tenderly hugs her daughter to her side.

You continue to gently sooth “Billy” as she cries herself out. Her crying seems to have started to come under control, and you can see she’s now trying to force herself to calm down. Her face is covered in tears and snot, and you decide to carry her to the bathroom in order to get her cleaned up. While you are at this though, you realize that you are going to have to start making plans for how to handle things from here. Her dad’s fate is already sealed, but as for what you are going to do with Billy, that’s another story entirely. You think that internet warrior guy will probably be trying to get her dad in trouble, but you are not so certain if they will be calling social services or not.

What will you do?
