{{EmiliaContacts |says=What's the deal with those symbols I heard about?}}

{{HeidiStåhlberg |says=Oh, you mean these? <span style="font-size:150%; color: #FF00FF">★</span><br>They're pretty self-explanatory. They're secret symbols that some of us young girls wear to signal we're interested in sex. You know, got to do it quietly and subtly because it's not socially acceptable for children to have sex. Especially not with adults.}}

{{EmiliaContacts |says=Yeah, I got that part, but is there more to it? Like, where did this idea come from, how did it start, who knows about it…}}

{{HeidiStåhlberg |says=There's a lot to it, actually. Should we start straight from the beginning?}}

{{MilkaAhlroos |says=Sure! It actually began here, in this very village, hundreds of years ago!<br>Legend says that Kostikki - a malevolent god who lives on top of that small mountain to the east - got angry at the local residents for how overly chastise and modest their lives had gotten. My granny says that it's probably due to people turning their backs on nature and tradition to worship their new God, but who really knows.}}

{{EmiliaContacts |thinks=What is she even going on about…}}

{{MilkaAhlroos |says=Thus, Kostikki came down as a spirit to torment and guide them towards debauchery, playing sexual pranks on the villagers and even possessing them to do lewd acts against their will! A lot was done to try and calm the angry spirit but nothing worked, short of doing what Kostikki wanted the villagers to do.<br>The people turned towards the wise shaman of the village to commune with Lauhatar - the spirit of the lake this village sits on the shore of - for guidance on how to banish the evil spirit from these lands. Lauhatar told the villagers that Kostikki could not be vanquished for he's been living in these lands since the dawn of time. He's connected to these lands. However, his anger could be contained and he could be calmed and convinced to leave the villagers be.<br>To carry out this mission, Lauhatar chose three local virgin daughters from the village and instructed them to bear the "Star of Lauhatar", which would mark them as an offering for Kostikki.<br>And so, for the following month of the waning summer, Kostikki possessed the local men one by one, and in their bodies and forms his spirit ravaged the "Star-Bearers" for thirty straight days and nights, all so his sexual appetite could be sated, all so his anger and frustration could be quelled. Then, when he was pleased with his work, he retreated back to his mountain to sleep and slumber in peace and quiet.<br>Ever since then, every now and then, some young virgin daughters of this land are chosen to bear the Star of Lauhatar to keep not only the evil spirit at bay, but also to keep the desires of men at bay. Now, we continue the tradition so he could sleep calmly forevermore and not come back to haunt these lands.}}

{{HeidiStåhlberg |says=That's the legend anyway. Nobody is actually "chosen" these days, as we "choose" to do these things on our own.}}

{{EmiliaContacts |says=…Riiight…}}

{{HeidiStåhlberg |says=It's a nice little story, but it's probably all just make believe and superstition.}}

{{MilkaAhlroos |says=Don't say that! My granny says she was chosen back when she was young, back when there was nobody else to take the mantle! And should there not be those like us doing this willingly, Lauhatar would choose a Star-Bearer of her own!}}

{{HeidiStåhlberg |says=Yeah, yeah. Sure, sure.<br>As for your other question; how far the knowledge about these symbols go? Well… It's hard for us to know for sure, but things like internet and such sure have spread information about it, for you've even got some city girls who wear these symbols far beyond our tiny little village where this all started. As you can imagine, it's got nothing to do with satisfying any angry, horny gods. That's just a local legend.}}

{{EmiliaContacts |says=Hmmm… Okay…<br>Is this a thing that only girls do with men, or…?}}

{{MilkaAhlroos |says=Well, since this is technically a "game", there are certain rules, and the black star for us means we've broken them. We'll explain them to you as well, but short explanation is that if we, the Star-Bearers, repeatedly break the rules given to us, then Kostikki will take that as a provocation and punish us for our disobedience and for not respecting what the Star of Lauhatar represents.}}

{{EmiliaContacts |says=Okay… So, what are the rules then?}}

{{HeidiStåhlberg |says=It kind of depends on your role. You know, whether you're the one wearing the star or taking advantage of one wearing it. At this point it's worth pointing out that there's no age limit, and technically you're also allowed to approach those wearing the star if its color matches with you.}}
{{HeidiStåhlberg |says=It kind of depends on your role. You know, whether you're the one wearing the star or taking advantage of one wearing it.<br>So first of all, a general rule of play: anyone who knows about the game can play it. There's no age limit and it's not restricted to any gender either. This basically means that as a Star-Bearer, you may be approached by both young and old people, and also that you can approach those who wear stars that match with you. As this is a general rule which just applies to everyone, there's not much attached to it. No punishments or anything, just a general heads-up so you know what to expect.}}

{{EmiliaContacts |says=So if a boy wears a blue star, I can approach him. Got it, but do I also need to wear one?}}
{{EmiliaContacts |says=So if a boy wears a blue star, I can approach him. Got it, but do I also need to wear one when I do?}}

{{HeidiStåhlberg |says=No, only the "target" needs to have one.<br><br>'''Rule number one''' is that you can only wear the star if it's considered somehow "unacceptable" for you to be having sex. Since there is a strict age of consent in this country, this basically means that you can wear it if you're underage. This is why it's mostly worn by children. Sometimes young teenagers too, but never adults.<br>'''Rule number two''', once approached you should NOT refuse. Like, why wear it if you're just gonna refuse? Doesn't make sense, doesn't it? You can only say "no" if you feel like the risk of being discovered is too great. You know, we've got to protect our secrets, and we've got to protect our dates too. We don't want anyone to end up in jail for just a little bit of fun, now don't we?<br>'''Rule number three''', never request money or any other payment. This is all for fun, all for free, no strings attached.<br>'''Rule number four''', we must NEVER use the stars as means of trying to lure people into trouble. NEVER EVER.<br>Lastly, '''Rule number five''', NEVER draw these markings on other people without their consent. Only draw on yourself!}}
{{HeidiStåhlberg |says=No, only the "target" needs to have one. Of course, you can wear one too, and if your colors match, it's a pretty good thing as you're both signaling interest! Anyway, let's go over what we as Star-Bearers need to keep in mind when playing this game.<br><br>'''Rule number one''' is that you can only wear the star if it's considered somehow "unacceptable" for you to be having sex. There is a strict age of consent in this country, which is 14 by the way, in case you didn't know, and this basically means that you can wear it if you're underage. That is why it's mostly worn by children. What I explain next doesn't really apply to us as we're all 10, but when it comes to teenagers aged 14 to 18, wearing a star can be acceptable as you're still a minor, as there are many who would consider it unacceptable. Adults aged 18 and up never need to wear one. And lastly, as there's no laws against homosexuality here in Sweden either, you can't really use that as a justification for wearing a star as an adult.<br>'''Rule number two''', once approached when wearing a star, you should NOT refuse your service. Like, why wear it if you're just gonna refuse? Doesn't make sense, doesn't it? Of course, it might get uncomfortable in a situation where someone you don't like, or someone who's really gross approaches you, but what are you gonna do? Rules are rules. Don't play if you don't like them. You can hide the star from the eyes of those you don't want to see it, that is not against the rules. What IS against the rules though is trying to erase the star once you've been discovered with it, as it means trying to avoid responsibility.<br>Now of course, you may still HAVE to say no in some situations. Like, what if the risk of being discovered is too great? We've got to protect our secrets, and we've got to protect our dates too. We don't want anyone to end up in jail for just a little bit of fun, now don't we? It's advisable to share contacts in such situations so you could meet up later, but it's not a requirement. It's just a nice courtesy. Of course, you shouldn't lie about being busy, or lie about having to go home, lie about your parents being nearby et cetera… That shit's not cool. At the end of the day, with this rule it's important to use your own head here. Some disobedience will be tolerated, but not on long term.<br>'''Rule number three''', never request money or any other payment. This is all for fun, all for free, no strings attached. You shouldn't ask for favors in return either. Not too strict of a rule to be honest, and there are exceptions. If you're offered a favor or a little gift, you can take it. Just never ask for one.<br>'''Rule number four''', we must NEVER use the stars as means of trying to lure people into trouble. NEVER EVER.<br>'''Rule number five''', NEVER draw these markings on other people without their consent. Only draw on yourself!}}

That basically means anywhere where these marks are known to be widely worn, especially here in our village. Gods are said to give leeway to those who don't know what the areas of influence are.<br>'''Three''', always make your intentions known as you approach a star-bearer. They can't just grab us out of nowhere and drag us into a van, you know? We will give them a permission if they just ask, so they REALLY should just ask!<br>'''Four''', do not force your target into doing something they're not comfortable with. Like, if you say anal is off limits, they can't do that. This kind of comes back to what the "wearers" can do as well. If we were to say that everything is off limits, that would just be considered a refusal of service and us breaking the rule number two.<br>And '''five''', respect the privacy and secrets of the Star-Bearers. Do not try to get them in trouble and do not try to expose them with photographs and such. Do not even use the threat of exposure as means of blackmail. Never ever ever!}}

{{EmiliaContacts |says=And what exactly happens if we break the rules?}}
{{EmiliaContacts |says=All these rules make sense to me. I mean, it's all about protecting ourselves and our secrecy, as well as those who use our, erm . . . "services", right?}}

{{MilkaAhlroos |says=Well let's just say, you may wake up some day with an unremovable black star tattooed on your skin, which magically changes place if you try to hide it. And since you've been a bad girl who needs to be punished, no penalty will come to those who decide to take advantage of you, no matter what they decide to do. Sometimes Kostikki himself who manifests himself in human form, and when he does, nothing can ever be traced back to him since he just disappears from the face of earth after being satisfied.}}
{{MilkaAhlroos |says=Yeah, exactly. The rules may seem restrictive at first, but they still allow for a lot of fun, and at the end of the day, they're there for the protection of us all at the end of the day.}}

{{EmiliaContacts |says=…So, they could literally even kidnap us?}}
{{HeidiStåhlberg |says=Now, I think there really is one more topic to cover here. There are also symbols other than stars, you see, which can be worn to signal different interest. They can be used with the different colors by us as well which makes for a pretty large range of different color and mark combinations. Wanna learn about them?}}

{{MilkaAhlroos |says=That's basically it, but they would still have to let you go once the star disappeared for good. And if you then try to get them into trouble, you'll just be marked again and again and again until you learn your lesson. I know, it's scary stuff.<br>Speaking of scary, there was also a famous case of child rape happening in this village some twenty years ago, where some lowlifes raped an unmarked little girl. Let's just say, these "lowlifes" met a quick and untimely demise after being cursed by Lauhatar…}}
{{EmiliaContacts |says=Sure, might as well.}}

{{EmiliaContacts |says=…And is any of this actually true?}}
{{HeidiStåhlberg |says=<span style="font-size:150%; color: #FF00FF">★</span>As I already explained, a star means interest in casual sex. All rules apply, no special rules here. {{EmiliaContacts |says=And what do you mean by "typically"?}}

{{HeidiStåhlberg |says=Yeah, me neither… N-not that I actually believe in any of this superstitious nonsense… I just follow the rules because it makes playing this game all the more fun.}}

So, is there more to all of this? Like, is this a thing that only girls do with men, or…?
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-HeidiStåhlberg.png
DT-OpenQuote.png
Oh right, I suppose that should be explained next, as it's an important detail…
Wait… Are you actually into girls?
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-EmiliaContacts.jpg
DT-OpenQuote.png
W-well, not particularly… Not really…
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-MilkaAhlroos.png
DT-OpenQuote.png
*giggle* Maybe you're a little bi-curious but just afraid to admit it~ ?
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-EmiliaContacts.jpg
DT-OpenQuote.png
It's not like that, I'm just asking in general…
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-HeidiStåhlberg.png
DT-OpenQuote.png
Well, it's all linked to the star's color, actually. Different colors signal your sexual orientation. For example, the one I was wearing yesterday, and right now, is pink.

Pink star means you're looking for a male partner.
Blue star on the other hand means you want a female partner. The reason why the colors are "flipped" like this by the way is because back in the days these stars were only meant to be worn for heterosexual purposes, so girls wore pink and boys wore blue. Homosexuality was much more of a taboo back then. Even pedophilia was more widely accepted as "normal".
Violet star means you're bisexual and fine with a partner of either gender.
And lastly, there's the black star. It's special, it's different, as it's not tied to sexual orientation. It means you've been a bad girl and needs to be punished.
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-EmiliaContacts.jpg
DT-OpenQuote.png
…And the same in Swedish? Like, what do you mean by "punishment"?
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-MilkaAhlroos.png
DT-OpenQuote.png
Well, since this is technically a "game", there are certain rules, and the black star for us means we've broken them.
We'll explain them to you as well, but short explanation is that if we, the Star-Bearers, break the rules given to us, then Kostikki will take that as a provocation and punish us for our disobedience and for not respecting what the Star of Lauhatar represents. Some punishments are mild, some are harsh.
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-EmiliaContacts.jpg
DT-OpenQuote.png
And this, uh… Lauhatar is okay with the mountain god punishing us?
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-HeidiStåhlberg.png
DT-OpenQuote.png
According to this legend, there's sadly not much she can do about Kostikki's wrath, as he's seen as a much more powerful spirit.
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-EmiliaContacts.jpg
DT-OpenQuote.png
Okay… So, what are the rules then?
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-HeidiStåhlberg.png
DT-OpenQuote.png
It kind of depends on your role. You know, whether you're the one wearing the star or taking advantage of one wearing it.
So first of all, a general rule of play: anyone who knows about the game can play it. There's no age limit and it's not restricted to any gender either. This basically means that as a Star-Bearer, you may be approached by both young and old people, and also that you can approach those who wear stars that match with you. As this is a general rule which just applies to everyone, there's not much attached to it. No punishments or anything, just a general heads-up so you know what to expect.
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-EmiliaContacts.jpg
DT-OpenQuote.png
So if a boy wears a blue star, I can approach him. Got it, but do I also need to wear one when I do?
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-HeidiStåhlberg.png
DT-OpenQuote.png
No, only the "target" needs to have one. Of course, you can wear one too, and if your colors match, it's a pretty good thing as you're both signaling interest! Anyway, let's go over what we as Star-Bearers need to keep in mind when playing this game.

Rule number one is that you can only wear the star if it's considered somehow "unacceptable" for you to be having sex. There is a strict age of consent in this country, which is 14 by the way, in case you didn't know, and this basically means that you can wear it if you're underage. That is why it's mostly worn by children. What I explain next doesn't really apply to us as we're all 10, but when it comes to teenagers aged 14 to 18, wearing a star can be acceptable as you're still a minor, as there are many who would consider it unacceptable. Adults aged 18 and up never need to wear one. And lastly, as there's no laws against homosexuality here in Sweden either, you can't really use that as a justification for wearing a star as an adult.
Rule number two, once approached when wearing a star, you should NOT refuse your service. Like, why wear it if you're just gonna refuse? Doesn't make sense, doesn't it? Of course, it might get uncomfortable in a situation where someone you don't like, or someone who's really gross approaches you, but what are you gonna do? Rules are rules. Don't play if you don't like them. You can hide the star from the eyes of those you don't want to see it, that is not against the rules. What IS against the rules though is trying to erase the star once you've been discovered with it, as it means trying to avoid responsibility.
Now of course, you may still HAVE to say no in some situations. Like, what if the risk of being discovered is too great? We've got to protect our secrets, and we've got to protect our dates too. We don't want anyone to end up in jail for just a little bit of fun, now don't we? It's advisable to share contacts in such situations so you could meet up later, but it's not a requirement. It's just a nice courtesy. Of course, you shouldn't lie about being busy, or lie about having to go home, lie about your parents being nearby et cetera… That shit's not cool. At the end of the day, with this rule it's important to use your own head here. Some disobedience will be tolerated, but not on long term.
Rule number three, never request money or any other payment. This is all for fun, all for free, no strings attached. You shouldn't ask for favors in return either. Not too strict of a rule to be honest, and there are exceptions. If you're offered a favor or a little gift, you can take it. Just never ask for one.
Rule number four, we must NEVER use the stars as means of trying to lure people into trouble. NEVER EVER.
Rule number five, NEVER draw these markings on other people without their consent. Only draw on yourself!
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-MilkaAhlroos.png
DT-OpenQuote.png
The last two ones are extremely strict. They're heinous crimes for us to commit! Breaking them will invoke the wrath of Lauhatar!
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-EmiliaContacts.jpg
DT-OpenQuote.png
Makes sense. How about the rules for those who approach us?
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-HeidiStåhlberg.png
DT-OpenQuote.png
Well, there are five.

One, don't draw on others to "trick" or even "force" them into having sex.
Two, do not approach those who don't wear these stars in the "area of influence". That basically means anywhere where these marks are known to be widely worn, especially here in our village. Kostikki is said to give leeway to those who don't know what the areas of influence are, but they typically will know eventually one way or another.
Three, always make your intentions known as you approach a star-bearer. They can't just grab us out of nowhere and drag us into a van, you know? We will give them a permission if they just ask, so they REALLY should just ask!
Four, do not force your target into doing something they're not comfortable with. Like, if you say anal is off limits, they can't do that. Here there can be some exceptions, and it kind of comes back to what the "wearers" can do as well. If we were to say that everything is off limits, that would just be considered a refusal of service and us breaking the rule number two.
And five, respect the privacy and secrets of the Star-Bearers. Taking photographs for personal use is fine, especially here in the information age where sexting, nudes and such are a fun way to spice things up when you're not close to each other . . . but do not try to get them in trouble and do not try to expose them with photographs and such. Do not even use the threat of exposure as means of blackmail. Never ever ever!
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-EmiliaContacts.jpg
DT-OpenQuote.png
All these rules make sense to me. I mean, it's all about protecting ourselves and our secrecy, as well as those who use our, erm . . . "services", right?
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-MilkaAhlroos.png
DT-OpenQuote.png
Yeah, exactly. The rules may seem restrictive at first, but they still allow for a lot of fun, and at the end of the day, they're there for the protection of us all at the end of the day.
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-HeidiStåhlberg.png
DT-OpenQuote.png
Now, I think there really is one more topic to cover here. There are also symbols other than stars, you see, which can be worn to signal different interest. They can be used with the different colors by us as well which makes for a pretty large range of different color and mark combinations. Wanna learn about them?
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-EmiliaContacts.jpg
DT-OpenQuote.png
Sure, might as well.
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-HeidiStåhlberg.png
DT-OpenQuote.png
As I already explained, a star means interest in casual sex. All rules apply, no special rules here. It's what me and Milka wear always. Well, almost always anyway. The four other markings are based on "suits" of a playing card deck, and are meant to signal more specific interest.
First, there's the romantic heart. Want yourself a boyfriend, or even a girlfriend? This mark means you're looking for a long-term romantic partner. Here, refusal is typically more acceptable, as you're not actually looking to have casual sex with just anyone, but rather an actual lover! Because of this, many of the rules don't apply here, and you typically can't really be punished either while wearing it.
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-EmiliaContacts.jpg
DT-OpenQuote.png
And what do you mean by "typically"?
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-HeidiStåhlberg.png
DT-OpenQuote.png
Well, I mean, technically everything's possible, and gods can be fickle. Anyway, moving on!
Diamond means you're a pervert looking to try a bit more kinkier things. It's basically the same as the star, but it just simply means that you're okay with a lot more than your average girl. An additional signal to our targets, if you may. Once you cross into this territory, refusal of service begins to turn more and more unacceptable. I mean, you have to be a pervert in order to wear a diamond in the first place, so… Yeah…
Spades specifically means you're a slave looking for a master.
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-EmiliaContacts.jpg
DT-OpenQuote.png
S-seriously?
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-HeidiStåhlberg.png
DT-OpenQuote.png
Hahahahaha! Calm down, it's just games and make believe! You're not literally about to become anyone's slave if you wear this, unless of course you wear a black spade! So maybe not do that, okay? Basically, as a make-believe "slave", you signal being okay with restraints, torture, humiliation . . . sado-masochistic stuff. Of course, all the other things associated with being a slave apply here, such as the willingness to submit yourself sexually.
Lastly, the club is similar to a spade. It means you're a pet looking for an owner. It's almost entirely the same, as "masters" rarely care if they get a pet or a slave. In a sense, you could even call them interchangeable to a point. Anyway, if you want to release your inner animal, this is what you want to wear. If you do, you better like wearing a collar and being naked, because you'll be doing that a lot!
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-EmiliaContacts.jpg
DT-OpenQuote.png
T-that's super lewd…
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-HeidiStåhlberg.png
DT-OpenQuote.png
Hahaha, I know, I know. If you wanna wear something, just wear a star, okay? There's no progression system or anything, nobody's gonna force you into wearing a "lewder" star if you don't want to. Do what you want, do what you feel comfortable with.
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-EmiliaContacts.jpg
Not sure if I want to wear anything, but at least it's good to know…
DT-EmiliaContacts.jpg
DT-OpenQuote.png
I almost don't want to ask, but what if I want to be the owner…
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-HeidiStåhlberg.png
DT-OpenQuote.png
Oh, right. There technically is a mark for that, but it's not reserved for us because we're not Star-Bearers.
However, if as a Star-Bearer you are interested anyway, you may want to wear a diamond and actually talk about and discuss your interest with the one approaching you. Like, just say you're a "dom" or a "top" or something like that. There totally are adult men out there who would love nothing more than to be dominated, berated and bossed around by a little girl, so you might get lucky if that's what you're looking for!
Or, alternatively, just find someone who wears spades or a club that matches with you. You might also get lucky here. For the people targeting the stars and the suits, it's almost always about luck.
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-EmiliaContacts.jpg
DT-OpenQuote.png
Then, why are the children wearing these marks called "Star-Bearers" when most of them are not stars?
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-HeidiStåhlberg.png
DT-OpenQuote.png
It's just a traditional title, because the star came first with the other markings being later additions.
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-MilkaAhlroos.png
DT-OpenQuote.png
Yeah, remember that story I told you? One way to interpret the legend as a whole is to assume that the Star-Bearers were chosen as a "sacrifices" to appease Kostikki. Of course Star-Bearers look up to Lauhatar as their patron and the one to seek guidance from regardless of what Kostikki wants, and she teaches us the values that she wants us to hold, but that's not so much the case for the other markings.
Some of the markings could've even been Kostikki's inventions, namely the club and the spades, as they're designed for us to not liberate us sexually and make us choose for ourselves, but for those who seek us to try and control and influence us. Kostikki, you see, very much wants to control us, and he also has followers who want to do that in his stead.
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-EmiliaContacts.jpg
DT-OpenQuote.png
So, does that mean that they are bad markings . . . and that they should be avoided, or…?
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-HeidiStåhlberg.png
DT-OpenQuote.png
Not necessarily. It's not inherently a bad thing. y'know. Sex can take many forms, and some may even prefer to be controlled… Some may even enjoy the idea of being a slave…
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-MilkaAhlroos.png
DT-OpenQuote.png
Yep. These two gods aren't meant to be seen as "good" and "bad", if that makes sense.
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-EmiliaContacts.jpg
DT-OpenQuote.png
Right… I'm not sure if I understand, but at least that explains what I wanted to know.
How about time? How does that factor into this?
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-HeidiStåhlberg.png
DT-OpenQuote.png
For that, there are no real rules beyond "as long as you're okay with it", or "as long as you're wearing the star". Like I said before, according to rules we shouldn't refuse, but that doesn't mean we should just allow them to have their way indefinitely. Just put a stop to it after you feel done.
DT-CloseQuote.png

DT-EmiliaContacts.jpg
DT-OpenQuote.png
Right. I think that's all for this topic then.
DT-CloseQuote.png
