Half the reason for presenting this all up-front is the option to have Elerneron object to it should he be against this, as it would be a little more difficult to reverse course once it has been written in as part of the context in a post with set-up that goes back several pages. I am not opposed to the direction that you want to take things, but you might want to change the occupations that I gave the parents if you want to go down this route as they would likely be earning too much to qualify for welfare.  --Elerneron (talk) 14:24, 18 February 2020 (CET)
Ok, well, given the background the father's income would not be counted. So, if the mother's being viewed by the state as a single mom, she can still be earning a respectable amount. Decided to make her a credit fraud detector, something which would 1. Fit her background as having aspberggers, 2. Earn almost exactly the right amount where she could qualify if she was raising children supposedly on a single income, and 3. Would allow her to manage her bookkeeping well enough to not get caught in the fraud her family is executing on the government. Well, we probably need to make a few more changes to things in that case.  First off, the kids should probably be Feldman instead of Merrick.  If she listed Jason as their father, the state would be after him for child support so long as his children were on welfare (I know this because my family was on welfare when I was a child and the state imprisoned my father for failure to pay child support without any action on my family's part).  The only way Miriam could avoid this would be to not list the birth father, and that would make the children Felmans and not Merricks.  Secondly . . . actually I don't think I have a second point.  I don't feel like re-writing this, though, so I'll leave it as it is.  --Elerneron (talk) 18:36, 19 February 2020 (CET)

Note, this is additional information to play with, and the direction I plan to go with the characters. Most of it is inspired by the observation I had about the siblings being almost exactly 4 years of age apart. Half the reason for presenting this all up-front is the option to have Elerneron object to it should he be against this, as it would be a little more difficult to reverse course once it has been written in as part of the context in a post with set-up that goes back several pages. Jemini (talk) 19:48, 18 February 2020 (CET)
