Beastkin

Beastkin are a Hybrid of humanoids and animals. Most Beastkin were originally the result of magical experiments. Over time they bread and flourished.

Beastkin have a growth cycle and life cycle equivalent to that of a human regardless of the progenitor animal's life span.

All Beastkin have the innate ability to transform into their progenitor animal at will.

Beastkin are broken into multiple sub species's based on the progenitor animal.

Lineage

When dealing with their own kind most Beastkin use Patriarchal Lineage, where the child takes on the lineage or family name of their father. The only acception are the Bunnykin who have a Sexual Lineage; female children take on their mothers family name and male children take their fathers and Catkin who use Matriarchal Lineage.

When the parents are of different Beastkin species, the child takes the family name of parent that matches their species.

When dealing with Non-beastkin they child always takes the Beastkin parents last name, unless otherwise agreed upon prior.

Racial Names

All Beastkin have a Racial name for their subspecies. This name is used primarily among the Beastkin, but is also used by other humanoids as a sign if respect.

Bearkin call themselves Bovin, Birdkin are Avock, Bunnykin are Thairn, Catkin are Kreg'ar, Dogkin are Carator, Lizardkin are Vex, and Ratkin are Faldin.

With the Beastkin that live, work, love and slave for other humanoids, the practice of using their Racial name has long since fallen out of favor. However in the Wilds of The Outskirts, among Beastkin communities they call themselves by their Racial names and consider the "Kin" names to be a "Slave Name" for their race.

In many societies it is an insult that will get you killed.
