General information

A fairy is a type of magical being, a form of spirit, often described as metaphysical, supernatural, or preternatural.

The label of fairy is applied to specific magical creatures with human appearance, small stature, magical powers, and a penchant for trickery.

They are very mischievous creatures who find joy in chaos and practical jokes. The targets of their jokes tend to be strangers, though friends can also be targets for more light hearted fun. The more serious or ordered the target the more intricate and over the top the joke.

Most times fairies don't go out of their way to harm others with their fun. However their alien nature and sense of reality often leads to misunderstandings or even jokes causing unintended harm. If someone can get a fairy to understand how their joke caused undo harm, the fairy will do anything to make it right. This is the only time anyone will ever see a fairy devoted, serious and unwavering in their cause.

The only time fairies intentionally cause harm with their jokes; is against people who mean harm to the fairy, their clan or their friends; or against people with truly evil hearts.

Fairies are the nobility of the Fey courts and tend to be among the most emotionally stable yet mentally alien of the fey races, having the emotional maturity of a 12 - 16 year old human depending on their duties in the Fey courts. The Fairy Queen is almost indistinguishable from a human in her emotional stability and ability to interact with humans and Fey.

The Fairy Queen, when interacting with humanoids, always appears as an enchantingly beautiful female of that race, with glowing gossamer butterfly wings and a crown of vines, leaves and flowers.

They have small insect like wings. Most have bee or dragonfly like wings, it is not unheard of for them to also have butterfly wings as well. Fairies take great pride in there wings, using magic and other means to stylize and enhance their wings natural beauty.
