Basically, the power you've already assigned to alpha females is far stronger by comparison to the bonded male's ability to block the puberty of a child who has yet to go through it in the first place. There IS a work-around to this that would lower the power that alpha females would have, but that work-around would be that she's able to trigger miscarriages in the subordinate females. It would take relatively little to cause that compared to shutting down their fertility entirely so that they never even have a fertilized egg in the first place. It comes down to the intent of the Bond. First yes The Bond is stronger with Alpha Females, because the Alpha Female is an Alpha with special abilities beyond just the Bond, second the intent of the Alpha Females is to ensure her Lineage is more prevalent and likely to pass on, thus the ability to suppress fertility in those not related to her. Bunnykin are a Matriarchal society when it comes to Lineage.
The Bond between a Male and a mate is to again insure that the mates lineage caries on, so giving the male the ability to stop puberty, has the opposite effect of what the bond is for at that time, a continuation of the Bunnykin's lineage.
The power of the the Bond doesn't lie with the male in the Bond but with the female. She initiates it with him, he then becomes protective of her and ALL her young, even those that are not his. Yes she becomes submissive to him, but that is a part of Bunnykin nature anyways.
In the end it's all about continuing the Bunnykin females lineage.

Well, with the added context that the bond could very well change everything, most of this just essentially became flavor text for the world lore. Oh well. Jemini (talk) 08:56, 21 April 2020 (CEST)

I'm actually thinking, much like the whole deal with the female sex drive calming down once she's bonded being a secret mechanic among bunnykin, another one is that the bond allows the bonded male to have some completely subconscious control over the age of puberty of their underage bonded mate. Basically, if he doesn't want her to get pregnant, she won't enter precocious puberty as a result of semen exposure and also won't even enter normal puberty at age 8 either and it can be delayed indefinitely, although she won't grow past age 12 if it keeps getting delayed and the concern the male feels when she's not growing as fast as she could usually overwhelms his desire for her not to get pregnant at that point and she finally enters delayed puberty. It would theoretically be possible to delay puberty longer, but it almost never happens unless the male has an unbalanced sense of priorities.

Conversely, if the male actually wants her to get pregnant, she will enter the process of precocious puberty the moment the bond forms without a bit of semen exposure. It will still take some time until her body is ready, but if the desire to get her pregnant is REALLY strong then she can ovulate her first egg within 2 weeks while the rest of her body is catching up. Interesting concept, I like part of it. The fact that the Bonded male can effect the precocious puberty. I'm not sold on the delayed puberty, the bond isn't "that" strong. I also feel that in the case of wanting to start the precocious puberty, the male should still initiate vaginal sex to start it, it just starts as soon as penetration occured. --Telgar (talk) 18:26, 21 April 2020 (CEST)

Well, now we're getting a little inconsistent if you say the bond's not that strong. It's also through the female alpha's version of the bond which applies to subordinate females under her that she becomes able to control the fertility of the other bunnykin. From a hormonal point of view, that's actually WAY more powerful than simply delaying the onset of puberty. The onset of puberty is completely under the control of a few hormones being released from the petuitary gland and triggering a positive feedback loop mechanism that begins the process. The initial hormones though are not that strong or large and should be easier to block. Meanwhile, the fertility of a woman who has already gone through puberty is governed by a larger assortment of hormones that are a combination of petuitary hormones in larger quantities as well as hormones released by the ovaries and uterus, and there are also the endometrial cells that are in the cycle of pruning and renewal even in logomorphs such as rabbits and hares.
