After looking back and forth for a moment longer Opal's gaze settled on one amulet in particular. Cautiously she approached the column, an unnerving feeling filling her body that she just couldn't seem to shake, and reached out to take the amulet from it's pedestal.

The moment her fingertips brushed it's surface a jolt surged through her hand, not unlike static but less of a sharp pain and more of a sudden rush of tingling numbness, the same kind she got from sleeping on her arm the wrong way. After the feeling faded a second later she reached out again, this time swiping the curious item form it's pedestal in one go, a simple black cord trailing behind it. Prize in hand the girl moved back towards the center of the room where the most light fell to make out the details more clearly.

A boar. The stylized image of a boar took up the center of the amulet, only it didn't seem quite like a normal boar. It was on all fours, but the legs seemed too long, the body too thin, almost more like a human than animal. Opal looked over the other details, her brows furrowed in confusion. Although the picture was very simplistic in nature, it looked like people were throwing spears at the creature (she couldn't see it as a boar anymore) only for them to bounce off it's hide. And under the creature were people, torn apart, an arm hanging from it's mouth.

Normally a child of her age would be disgusted by such an image, and even though she found herself a little disturbed by the picture, the lack of details greatly toned down the gruesomeness of the scene. Turning the amulet over revealed some sort of script, but the 10 year old girl had no hope of deciphering it. With a shrug of her shoulders Opal took the attached cord and hung it around her neck, the cool metallic surface of the amulet coming to rest against her bare skin.

...wait.

Blinking a few times, it finally dawned on Opal that she was, in fact, no longer wearing her shirt, leaving her tiny nipples exposed for the world to see. Even if said world was a dank cave she still let out a squeal and threw her arms of her flat chest before realizing a second later her shirt was around her waist. She wasted no time in putting it back on and buttoned it all the way up.

The sudden realization of her toplessness having shaken her from her trance like state, Opal decided that she had enough of the outdoors for today and made to leave the cave, taking care to make sure her shirt didn't get caught on any roots again. The sun was noticeably lower in the sky as she left the cave and she made her way back to the worksite, managing to crest the steep hill she fell down in one go.

She had completely forgotten about the boar amulet now hidden beneath her shirt.
