"I think I'll walk around the lake a little bit."
"Alright then. Have fun sweetie!"
You excitedly scurry away, happy to run free outside with your skirt bouncing and bobbing over your legs. But the park is quite beautiful, especially with this small lake in the middle of it, so you find yourself slowing down to take it in. Sometimes it looks like it could be a painting. Even though there aren't many people here so early, the lake seems to be popular enough, with the early patrons sitting in the grass to read, sunbathe, and generally enjoying the calm vista before them. There aren't exactly beaches here but there are lots of spots to access the lake from official paths and trails that snake around nearby.
As you walk along one of those designated trails you notice how there are little patches of trees along the water's edge at some spots. Most are quite small but after a few minutes you happen across a big swath of trees large enough that the walkway you're on diverges to the left. And yet it seems like there's a lightly worn path that leads down into those trees as well.
Always curious, you look around to make sure no one will stop you, then head down into the thicket. From the outside it looks quite dense, but once you're in it opens up a little and lets you look out at the lake between spacious gaps among the trees. The path works it's way quite close to the water at times, the ground seeming to fall away rather suddenly to give you an unobstructed view. Looking out into the distance, it's as if the lake itself were under your feet. It's a beautiful private little spot, with a thin clearing and a makeshift fire pit offering some evidence that others have also enjoyed this little hideaway from time to time.
Feeling as though you stepped into a magical little place, you skip a little along the path, spinning around skinny trees and hanging off of larger ones, flipping your hair and twirling your skirt gleefully. Kicking off your shoes, you prance around barefoot like a whimsical fairie trying to become one with the forest, but still cautious enough to carry your footwear with you. One part of the path cuts right along the water's edge and you see there's a small drop of nearly two feet to get down to the water. Wanting to touch the lake, to feel more of the magic of this space, you lay over the edge of this tiny cliff and reach down, your fingers just dipping down into wet reverie. The water is not especially warm but it still feels nice and inviting, especially since you've been bouncing around for a while now.
"Not going for a swim, are you?"
You very nearly do, almost slipping over the edge with fright. You manage to push and roll back onto the middle of the path, right in front of a runner. The older woman is jogging in place watching you, a glowing smile on her face as she looks you over with some level of amusement.
"No, I wasn't, I swear," you reply warily, not wanting to get in trouble. Not that you were planning on doing it. You're not sure if swimming is even allowed at the park.
The woman opens her mouth to say something then stops herself, pausing before changing her mind, her expression softening. "That's a shame. The water is lovely. Nothing quite like it."
That's not at all what you were expecting. Your eyebrows raise as you follow her gaze out to the lake. The water is so tranquil, only light ripples for the sun to sparkle off of.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to frighten you!" She apologizes before the silence gets too awkward. She then carefully steps past your sprawled limbs before she adds, "This is a great little spot. I'll leave you to your fun. Pretend you never even saw me." And with that the woman zips off down the path and out of sight.
You dust yourself off and stand, glancing in the direction she ran. That kind lady had looked at you so fondly, perhaps even vicariously, after realizing you were out here on your own. Maybe she used to come out here when she was younger to go swimming herself. The thought had not crossed your mind, swimming that is, but since she mentioned it you find that idea strangely exciting.
Feeling the wind under your skirt is fun but that big risk you took on the car ride over has you wanting something more than just a breeze. You can't just get naked though, even out here. It's clear you're not the only one who knows about this path, even if it isn't well known. Anyone could pop into the trees at any moment. But... if you slip off your skirt and wade around in the water no one would be the wiser. Even if someone were to come along and find you they'd have no idea what you did or didn't have on under the shiny surface of the lake.
You walk around barefoot for a while longer, tossing your shoes to the side for now, contemplating whether you should really do this. But the longer you spend on your feet, kicking at the dirt while blades of grass tickle your toes, the easier it is to make your decision.
With no signs of any other runners, and your assuredness peaking, you undo your skirt, step out of it, and then kick it aside for good measure, overcome by the thrill of your own naughtiness. You then hop onto your butt on the side of the trail, feet dangling over the edge. You take a moment to enjoy kicking your feet to wash your toes while your bare butt rests in the sparse grass, but then you end up worrying about your shirt.
How deep is the water? If you jump in, will your shirt get soaked? Mom probably wouldn't let you go swimming if she were here, so if you're found later with a wet shirt that could be hard to explain away. You could probably take it off too, but... that seems like a lot. You'd be completely naked after that, completely vulnerable. It is a fun idea but it's also much riskier.
No, not yet. You should at least test out the water first. But you do grab the hem of your shirt and lift it up so you can tie a knot in it as high up as you can manage. That will shorten your shirt and hopefully keep it from getting wet. It does also leave you a bit more naked, with nothing but unbroken bare skin from your sternum down the whole rest of your body. You'll be unable to pull your shirt down over your hips or hide your bum if you get scared, which admittedly might be part of where your brain was going with this. Danger is all part of the fun.
Top tied, finally ready, you push your bum off the edge and jump down into the water. You make a light splash but thankfully you find the bottom quickly. You were pretty sure you could see the bottom from the path but you weren't positive. Now that you're standing in the water you're certain of that fact. The water comes up to your knees but not much higher, a long way from being submerged. You can just peek over the top of the cliff when on your tippy toes.
You take a few careful steps away from the thicket and into the water but it takes several yards before it gets even the slightest bit deeper. You turn back to face the shore and find the sun beaming down onto your tummy, not to mention your bald tanless crotch. That sure helps warmly illustrate to you that you are still very exposed right now. And you haven't even found your way out of the kiddie pool yet.
This isn't what you were hoping for. So far it'd be pretty clear to anyone watching that you're out here more than half naked. You had no idea it was so shallow. It just seems like you're stuck on a little shelf. Or maybe the lake used to come up higher. Either way, there's certainly no chance of drowning, but not a lot of protection either.
You kneel down in the water to at least get your butt below the surface and give yourself a moment to think. There's still no one around, so going for an actual swim where it's deeper could be fun, but that will definitely get your shirt wet. You 'could still take it off, but you don't know if your nerves can handle that. Maybe if you swim along the ledge and further down the path, where there's more trees or bushes or something, just in case someone comes by? Or maybe you should just leave and count your blessings that someone has yet to find you half naked in public.
Well? How naughty are you feeling?
