Revision as of 14:40, 20 January 2024
Welcome to the 2024/I edition of the ATF Story Writing Contest, the third edition overall. This contest runs across two sites: this site (ATF Stories), and the ATF Forum. For this edition, both anonymous and non-anonymous (named) submissions will be accepted. Other rules might still change, until the official start of the story submission period.
Dual sites
All stories that are submitted to this contest will be published on both sites. This can be done by the author, if they wish to post the story twice. Or the author can submit the story to one site only, in which case the organizer will post an identical copy on the other side.
Due to the nature of ATF Stories, discussing rules and voting for the best stories are not possible here. These elements of the contest will be at the ATF Forum only.
Call for prompts
The call for prompts was opened on December 16, 2023, and closed on December 31, 2023.
Prompt selection
On January 2, 2024, a poll was set up (on the ATF Forum) to select one of the 16 submitted prompts. On January 16, the poll closed. With just one vote difference, "Sexual education" beat "Forced Exposure".
21 Sexual education 20 Forced Exposure 19 Historical 16 Time Travel 16 Post-apocalypse 16 Fantasy creature sex 15 Dystopian 12 Mythology 12 Lost and alone 11 Under the Same Roof 9 Super! 8 Surrealism 8 One of Us 8 Crossovers 7 Interracial 6 Sex at the Olympics
Story submissions
On January 16, 2024, the 2024/I edtition of the ATF Story Writing Contest was officially kicked off. You can find all the rules and all information on how to submit, as well as a list of submitted stories, here.
Voting
After the story submission period ends, readers and writers will be able to vote for their favorite story/stories, to determine the "Readers' Choice Award". Authors of accepted contest entries will also be able to vote for their top three stories for the "Writers' Choice Award".
Since ATF Stories has neither a poll feature, nor private messaging, the voting will be entirely on the ATF Forum.
Results
Once voting closes, the winners of the Readers' Choice Award and of the Writers' Choice Award will be published here.
