After picturing the desired location in your mind, you place a firm image in your mind of the space in front of you. You connect the physical space of the location you intend to go to the space right in front of you. In this manner, an oval space that shows a different location, an entire multiverse away from your current location, appears. This is a completely stable wormhole. It is not like the large swirling mass of nebulous clouds as seen in some sci-fi series, and there is no tunnel you have to go through. Instead, it just creates a small bit of physical space that, if you walk through it, you wind up in a completely different location. As it is now, light, sound, and physical matter can pass through freely, so you can also clearly see the other side.

With this complete, you look up to your... friend? Acquaintance? He is a fellow person who received his power at the same time as you. You have never met before today, but he happened to have a power to see through dimensions in order to see any world. He was the one who found this world for you and recommended it would be the best for your purposes. With tens of thousands of people who have suddenly gained genuine superpowers, you were searching for another world that had already gone through the same thing that you could learn from and use as a basis for comparison, to try and figure out how best your own world could survive the sudden appearance of a bunch of people with superpowers.

"Well then, from your perspective, I guess I will be right back in a second." You say to him. He does not respond to you with words. Like you, he has been physically transformed in addition to gaining his powers. Unlike you who was transformed from a man in his 30s to a girl who looked just like your little sister when she was 5 years old, he was transformed into a giant metal construct that you would think was a statue of some strange kind of art if it weren't for the fact that he moved. He was incapable of using words in this form, however, his power allowed him to interact directly with thought. And so, you immediately felt his acknowledgment in your mind. You are not used to communicating like this, but the volume and depth of what is communicated by his direct thoughts is far richer than words can ever convey. The gysts of it though is that he expresses his confidence in your ability, his positive intentions toward your success, and his lack of real concern and full confidence that you will have gained a lot of useful information in what from his and everyone elses' perspective here will be only a few seconds due to your full intention to take full advantage of the fact that wormholes are not only a portal through space but also through time. No matter how long this exploration takes you, for them, no time at all will have passed.

There is no strange sensation as you pass through the wormhole, it is a perfect and stable wormhole. If you were to place one of these to overlap with a door-frame, people would walk through it without even noticing something was wrong unless you went and closed it on them the second after they passed through. However, because you know that you are crossing from one world to another across the multiverses, your mind creates its own phantom sensations of a great deal of weight and importance being heaped upon your shoulders as you pass through the gate.

You steel your nerves and close the wormhole behind you, making sure first that nobody was trying to follow you. It would be very very bad if this thing closed on someone while they were half-way through. Having space itself separate on the place you are currently occupying would not have good results for you. Whatever parts of you are on one side would be left on that side. It's not cutting, it is simply that those two parts of your body would no longer be connected to each other. This method could even split a magically indestructible object.

You let out a breath now that you are fully in this other world. According to the information you were given, this world should be very similar to yours. This country is also called the United States of America, and the government functions largely the same. The reason this world was selected was because just about the only difference between this world and the one you just came from was the appearance of superpowers that came from some research shortly after the second world war. With all other variables controlled for, this would be the very best basis to see what your own world should do moving forward in order to cope with its condition.

Now then, what should you do first? You do not know anyone here, and you are just a 5-year-old kid to the rest of the world. By your understanding, not everyone here has superpowers. Most of the people who have superpowers receive them as adults through some kind of procedure too, so it would be seen as very strange for a 5-year-old to have powers. It might not be a good idea to let people know about your abilities, you don't know what kind of reactions that could get. But then, you could very well just use that to demonstrate how unusual you are. Letting people know about that sort of thing up front could get you the information you want pretty fast.

What will you do?
