In a household that is suffocatingly conservative sexually, every interaction between boys and girls is policed to be within "proper standards" and even masturbation is not allowed. These sexual standards are usually the result of some form of religion which teaches sexual restraint, originally to encourage social cohesion by keeping pair-bonding couples loyal to each other, but through the generations the original intent was forgotten and the sexual standards became neurotic and overbearing. In strange backward logic, sexually conservative households often prohibit the use of any form of contraception and try to keep their children unaware that sex is something that even exists. More often than not, this discouragement of sexual education tends to backfire and actually result in teen pregnancies.
