You lean over and gently shake your father's shoulder.

Slowly, he opens his eyes and looks up at you. "Hey, sweetie, what's up?"

"I was gonna see if mom was up yet. Do you know where she went?"

"Yeah. I know where she is, don't worry." He checks the clock. "Hey, it's still a couple hours before breakfast anyway. If you don't want anything else, I'm going back to sleep for a bit."
