FYI: I have it that small predators and rodents are more likely to be skaters, the reason being that their bone structures are more resistant to injury and thus are more able to keep going after taking a fall while skating. The same thing applies IRL in terms of the reason there are more male skaters Vs. female skaters, and the male skaters tend to do better. The male pelvis structure renders it less vulnerable to injury from a fall, where as a female skater is more likely to get a severe lower body injury. This causes female skating careers to either be short lived or to never start in the first place due to fear of injury. In this world, that dissuasion toward female skaters can be overcome and instead favors species with more injury resistant bone structures like these, and I really like the idea that the ones that favor skating most are the ones you would least expect.
