The brewery, a two story building twice as wide as a normal shop and three times as long, and their products made obvious with stacks of barrels on either side of the entrance, was the target Luneiris had chosen to explore tonight, intrigued by what strange effects their alcohol may have.

Checking again to make sure the guard had passed she crept towards the edge of the roof where a rope was strung up above the street, connecting to the roof across the way with festive decor hanging off of it. Setting her left foot in line with the rope Luna paused to steady herself before surging forward, running across the cord with an unnatural sense of balance and reaching the other rooftop with ease, which just left to problem of how to enter the brewery itself.

Luna turned and sized up the building. There was a gap between this rooftop and the awning halfway up the two story wall, but with a running start she could jump the distance without trouble. Directly inline with her were large, square windows that went down the length of the second floor, and above them was another, smaller awning. On the roof she could make out various hatches that were normally opened during the day for ventilation and closed at night for safety.

Luneiris pondered how to proceed before nodding to herself, a smirk crossing her face.

Backing up several feet she mentally prepped herself before running forward into a leap over the alleyway below and landing feet first in a crouch on the awning, and no sooner had she stopped than she immediately jumped vertically up the side of the building and reached out with both hands to grab the ledge above her, using her momentum to haul herself up and onto the roof of the brewery in one smooth motion. She laid there for a moment, catching her breath and thanking the Pantheon for her elven agility, before pulling herself up and carefully making her way over to the nearest hatch, feeling around the edge for a spot she could get her fingers under and open it up.

In no time she found her leverage and hoisted the hatch open, leaping inside before a patrolman saw her and letting the hatch close behind her as she landed on the second floor walkway, quiet as a mouse. Checking up and down the large room she found herself in the stealthy intruder quickly jumped over the side of the nearby railing and landed between two massive barrels of brew and again looked around to confirm that yes, she was alone.

Luna kept her eyes peeled for any sort of entrance to the cellar below where the "good stuff" was supposed to be. Before long a set of stairs spiraling downwards, tucked back against the wall behind the large barrels, caught her attention and she swiftly ran over and down into the darkness only to be met with a set of doors. She didn't need to be so hasty, as far as she knew, but in her mind the sooner she could be more well hidden the better, so as she threw open the doors and let them swing shut behind her she breathed a sigh of relief, letting herself relax a little.

The stairs deposited her at one end of a vast cellar absolutely filled with rows upon rows of alcohol with stray beams of light from above filtering in, with Luna at one end of a center path stretching down the room's length. She casually made her way down the cellar, her night vision allowing her to read the names on the crates and barrels she passed, before her senses perked up again, altering her to the presence of magic. Luna looked around in confusion, unable to find the source before she looked down, seeing a trapdoor partway down one of the aisles.

Opening the door and finding a ladder she carefully climbed down, closing the door above her. Now in the absolute pitch black darkness of this new sub-cellar Luna had to let her eyes adjust to the complete lack of light. This room was much more compact than the room above, with only three rows to walk down and probably less than forty full-sized barrels on the shelves, but Luna had found the source of the magic resonance she felt, each barrel giving off an inaudible hum only an elf would notice.

Luna was about to step forward when she kicked something, and looking down she saw a tankard on the ground, as if some higher power knew she would be here. Picking it up she gave it a quick sniff to determine that it was clean enough and wiped any dust or dirt off with her cloak as she approached the first barrel she saw.

Two things about dark elves. One, their kids drink a form of alcohol all the time that could dizzy a dwarf after one mug with no ill effects, so not only was Luna used to the taste of beer and wine but she saw no problem in trying some here beyond the fact she wasn't paying for it. Two, even their night vision had its limits, and in perfect darkness like the cramped room Luna was presently in it was impossible to make out written script, so she had no way of knowing what effects the beer from each barrel had.

Setting her tankard under the tap of the barrel Luna turned the handle and filled it up almost completely. Bringing the mug to her mouth she again felt her ears vibrate faintly as she tilted her head back and drank up. She was presently surprised to that the beer had a slight sweet taste to it, almost like honey. Gulping it down she set the tankard on the shelf and stood back. From what Luna gathered the special effects of the beer took a moment to kick in and were preceded by a tingling feeling in the stomach.

Try as she might though she was unable to discover what the effects could be beforehand, books being useless and any adult she asked simply saying "you're too young to know just yet," something that irked her to think about. However, before she could stew on the matter she felt the described tingling in her stomach and readied herself for what might happen.

What effect does the special beer have on Luna?
