Although the beast could not be considered Opal in a literal sense, facets of the girl's personality were imprinted upon it's mind, which in this case manifested as Opal's curiosity mixing with the desire for food, thus spurring her to investigate the truck stop despite entailing a trek down the mountain.

Moving to the undergrowth alongside the mountain road the boar-like girl pressed onward in a slightly lopsided gait. Occasionally she would smell an odd mushroom or acorn as she went and stop to gobble them up, while also dashing deeper into the treeline whenever the rare vehicle drove by. Thankfully she was speedy enough that only her hooved hind legs were visible to the few who saw her, convincing them they saw a wild animal.

Eventually she made her way down the mountain and reached the outer edge of the truck stop. It was a surprisingly large facility for it's rural location; aside from a massive parking lot for sleeper trucks and several refueling stations, there was multiple fast food restaurants alongside a single diner, small convenience stores to go alongside the gas pumps, and even a two story motel for truckers who needed a bed for rest.

Opal gazed about the area, her bestial mind overwhelmed by the strange human structures dotting the place. The smells of gasoline and rubber were even stronger now, forcing her to let out a ghastly sounding sneeze when she took a breath. However, her acute senses did pick up the smell of food coming from one of the few places still open at the late hour, the diner.

She ran forward, only to be startled by the sound of her hooves on concrete, much louder out here in the open than up in the mountains, surrounded by plants to absorb the sound. After picking herself up from where she tumbled in surprise, she moved slowly this time so as not to alert anything by the sound of her walking.

Even so, she still sped up as she neared the diner and the smell grew. Seeing the few people inside she instead moved around back, soon finding a dumpster with a few garbage bags besides it. Using her tusks she tore open the best smelling (to her) bag, day old leftover fruits, vegetables, and even bacon spilling out. Licking her lips she dove in, hastily devouring the food in a sloppy manner befitting of her current image.

After a couple minutes she finally satiated her hunger, sitting back on her haunches to breath for a moment, only for the sound of a door followed by footsteps to startle her, making her quickly run behind the dumpster.

"Huh? What was that?"

Unfortunately, in her haste she had accidentally kicked a few cans that fell from the torn bag, attraction the attention of whoever just arrived. Fearing she was caught, Opal peered around the dumpster to determine whether to face the human head on, or turn tail and run.

Who does she find?
