God's Compensation/Lore/Alter Genetics

Any deity who is skilled enough can alter their own genetics via their "trigger natural phenomenon" ability, using natural mutation to alter DNA. However, while this feat can be done at any stage in a person's life, it is somewhat impractical to do this with a full-grown body. It has to be performed on one cell at a time and thus will not show manifestation unless a large number of cells are altered. There is also the risk of immune system rejection.

In order for this ability to take full effect, it has to be done via time-travel. The alteration, if done at the exact moment after sperm meets egg, can be used to make certain alterations in the genes. The easiest alterations are ones that manifest features more prominent on one parent or the other, activating dormant genes, or deactivating other active genes. Other alterations are far harder to come by. Also, if one wants to use this ability to change a person's gender, it is far easier to change a female into a male than the other way around. The other direction involves suppressing the Y chromosome and cloning the mother's X chromosome, thus turning the person into an effective clone of their mother.

These are the alterations that are possible with advanced skill levels. More complicated alterations are also possible, but those require truly insane levels of specialized skill and extraordinary technique. It involves actually setting up conditions to synthesize DNA from scratch. It is something that is possible to achieve through the trigger natural phenomenon ability, but the amount of skill and knowledge needed to do it is staggering.
